Redneck widow
Three Rednecks, Cooter, Ronnie and Donnie were working on a cell phone tower. As they started their descent, Cooter slipped and fell off the tower. He was DRT (Dead Right There). As the ambulance took the body away, Ronnie said, "Someone should go tell his wife." Donnie said, "OK, I'm pretty good at that sensitive stuff, I'll do it." Two hours later, he came back carrying a case of Budweiser. Ronnie asked, "Where'd you get that beer?" "Cooter's wife gave it to me." Ronnie then said, "That's unbelievable, you told the woman her husband was dead and she gave you a case of beer?" "Well, not exactly." Donnie answered, "When she opened the door, I said to her, "you must be Cooter's widow.'" She said, "You're mistaken, I'm not a widow." "Then I said, 'I'll bet you a case of Budweiser you are." (Note: Rednecks are usually pretty good at all that sensitive stuff.)

Unwelcome House Guest
actually an exterminator can help. I use to have a big spider problem, it drove Gidget nuts. :-? She called an exterminator, and now - minimal to no spiders or bugs.

Possibly an attempted abduction
This story made my blood boil as well. I don't have any kids, but I do have nephews and nieces. I'm glad to read that the child was not taken.

Mike Ike and his rods
I took a good look at the Ike rods last year at ICAST when I went with Glenn. The rods look really nice, but oh man were they heavy. I'd be willing to bet that if they made the rods with better quality blanks that they would sell alot more of them, considering Ike's popularity. I'm just saying....

dobyns rods
Although there are a few members here that are on Dobyns staff, I have to say that the Gen 2 Dobyns Extreme rods are really nicely built. So staffers post on these threads? If there were pro staffers here for any other brand they'd probably do the same thing. Kudos to the guys on staff that are helpful. I wish there were more reps from other brands that did the same. Like Evergreen, Megabass... ;D

Crazy Boat Crash!!!
I see guys flying like that on the Delta all the time. Not only do they put themselves in danger, but other boats as well.

IF you could have any components for a custom rod.......
Reel Mechanic knows his stuff, no doubt...there are tons of great rods out there already built. However... If you were looking for a full custom, no holds barred rod, I would go with a GLX blank and Matagi components. For guides, I'd use Cermet, as they are the hardest/lightest rod guides you can buy, period.

Rod Marketing is No-Brainer....
Agreed. The JDM trend is catching up here with a vengenace.

What's up with reels getting faster and faster??
They aren't all getting faster, manufacturers are just offering speedy reels as another option. There are plenty of techniques that can take advantage of the added speed.

It will never be in my driveway, but check this car out
Well, even if I had the cash...it still won't pull my camper or boat. It looks real sweet, but as much as I may ooogle it, I am too practical when it comes to buying vehicles. I have set of needs I need to vehicle to fit (Transportation, Towing, hauling/storage, reliability, ease to work on, Looks, fuel economy.). Even the car I have right now...2002 Trailblazer. I ended up with it, cause it came with a towing package, could fit the 2 kids I had at the time (that numnber went to 4), could haul some stuff, with a straight 6 had decent mileage for the vehicle type. I got the base model, with 4x4. No electronic climate control, sun/moon roof etc. Got 125k on it so far. In leau of a new car I got a 09 Tracker 175 txw, a HUGE and full tackle box, vacations, etc. I get picked on non-stop from my family for being "cheap" on my cars, but hey...I am perfectly content with oogling ones like these and living with what I got. Sorry for the rambling....LOTS and LOTS of coffee today.....LOL No need to apologize. I went through the car adddiction pretty badly. Looking back, I'm glad I did it, even though I lost a ton in selling the cars I owned. I had a lot of fun with them, and met some fantastic people through the car events I would go to. Now I'm happy driving my Supercharged H2. Tows my boat no problem, no worries about door dings, scratched wheels, or people zooming in and ouot of traffic for a closer look or to snap a picture. Kind of nice to have a few things less to worry about.
