Talk about tough fishing. Went to Coyote Lake here in Gilroy, home to a few monster bass. I comitted to throwing a 6" Mission Fish all afternoon and managed to catch one nice largemouth. Obviously a young fish, but look at it's belly! These fish eat well.

My buddy Long was telling me about this accident yesterday. Gary's one of THE MOST experienced bass boat drivers out there, period. If something like this can happen to him, it can happen to any one of us. I'd hate to hear that one of our BR members gets into a boating accident and was not wearing a pfd. Speedy recovery to Gary, and heads up to the rest of us!

Peacock bass (and pirhana for that matter) are absolutely delicious. They have a firm white meat and taste unbeleivable with some simple seasonings. We had the best shore lunch in Brazil the year before last.

Anybody want to come? Dad and I are booked and set for that week to go back to the Lodge. Can't tell you how stoked I am. I really didn't think we'd go back this year but greatfully it's going to happen. besides the fishing, I'm just happy to be able to spend a good solid week of quality time with my dad. Looking forward to breaking the 20 lb barrier this year!
