IMX v GLX
That depends on you. The difference isnt night and day. Is the extra sensitivity, lightweight, and components worth it? I think so. But I'm a tackle crack addict. Warning though - it will cost you way more than $100. I guarantee it wont be the last GLX you buy....

My tequila endeavor received some good press last week guys.
I just read the comment. Not too sure where it's coming from, all I can tell you is that based on the FACT that Olvera Street is the birthplace of Los Angeles, the shop I am opening really does fall into place with the historical signifigance of the area. Tequila, whether you pay $10 for a cheap mixto or $400 for a extra anejo, is still in some shape or form tequila. I simply refuse to carry the cheap mixto's. If that makes me a "yuppie", then so be it.

Thanks for the good wishes guys. I'm really looking forward to getting this place going. I'm planning a fairly substantial pairing event in the coming months, will keep you all posted.

Any spinning rod suggestions in the $100-$150 range?
I second that. The other you may want to consider is the Carrot.

My tequila endeavor received some good press last week guys.
Thanks for the good wishes guys, they are very much appreciated. I am working on the online sales portion, so yes you will be able to buy online here through BR as soon as I become a board sponsor. As far as the name, that was one of the first things I had decided. The shop, having been in the family for over 70 years now, has always been known as "El Puente" gift shop. El puente transates to "the bridge". That is how I see this shop - a bridge from the old to the new. I am keeping the name, as an homage to my Great Uncle Nash that started the shop back in the the '30s. The name will be "El Puente Tequileria"

Any of you guys wear western boots?
Let me translate guys: I won 't have to buy more until my next trip to Mexico when I 'm supposed to go fishing with Raul to Zimapan, after all, I still have to take a flight from LA to León and we still have to depart from Raul 's place for that fishing trip. And since Robert won 't be needing to bring any tackle I 'm pretty shure he will have enough place in his luggage for a few pairs more. Busted. ;D ;D

Any of you guys wear western boots?
Crossing the boots over was not a problem. The biggest issue I had was not enough room in my luggage to pack my 4 pairs and my dad's two pair that he bought. We even got matching belts with each pair. I wore the brown ones out to dinner last night with Gidget and had two guys stop me to ask where I got them. They are really nice, comfortable boots. I'm pretty sure I wont have to buy any more for a few years.

Dinner with Raul.
That's hilarious. My buddy Steve that came down to watch the fight is Brittney Spears neighbor in Beverly Hills. I told Raul that we were going to convince her to move to Leon. Raul said thanks, but no thanks. ;D Burley, you don't dig my hair? Gidget loves it.

carrot stix
A have to agree with ya there. I don't have any experience at all with these things; and from what I read, they are great rods. But, I don't think I could ever get past the way they look. :-/ I think if you match it up with the right reel like a Daiwa Sol then it looks good. yup.

Dinner with Raul.
What a fantastic person. I'm so glad I had the chance to come down here and meet with Raul for dinner. And what a dinner it was. We went to this Argentinian beef restaurant, and I swear I ate half a cow. Here's to you my friend. And here's to BR for having the quality members it has!

Did you have another hobby besides fishing?
I almost forgot my other hobby/passion, fine tequila! I have close to 100 different types in my home bar, just added two more that I bought today here in Leon, Mexico. My favorite? Asombro 11 year. Oldest tequila you can buy on the market right now, bottle was a gift to me from the owner of the company, Ricardo Gamarra. It's an ultra premium tequila that retails for $1,100.
