  1. My casting crankbait rig is a 6'6 med/mod lightning shock rod and a pflueger trion reelnin 6.3:1. The reel was like $35 at walmart but I honestly prefer it over my lews LFS.
  2. If you find some and need a partner I'm in OK. I don't have a boat though
  3. I use a 6'6 Lightning Shock medium casting for all my cranking and treble hook needs. I run it with 10lb big game mono.
  4. 1. Daiwa SV103 2. Daiwa SV105 3. Daiwa Tatula CT
  5. Ahh ok. Going to need more turns of the reel but theres more oompf behind a 5 ratio vs a 7. Thanks
  6. You arent missing much on the feel of a crankbait bite. Now the topwater bite will elevate your heartrate and make your palms sweat.
  7. Question, but how does a lower ratio reel help reducd fatigue when fishing deep cranks?
  8. If you shop Ebay you can get cheaper prices. I'd go with a Daiwa CT and a Tatula rod.
  9. I throw a 25 with 6 lb fluoro on a 7 ft med light xf and have no problems at all. I used to run 8lb fluoro on a med fast with the same reel and it worked fine for that as well.
  10. Turbo Crawz in pumpkin/orange and sprayed grass. Zman jigs in orange/black and black/blue Missile mini jig in some sort of craw color Crawbugz in pumpkin/orange. Looks pretty good
  11. I fish a president 6925 on a ML/XF and I haven't had issues with the drag. I keep the drag lose enough I can strip it from the reel without a lot of effort too. I'm using 6# fluoro so maybe it's something with your braid?
  12. I have one and I freaking love it. Plan on buying more.
  13. Chigger craws work better than anything else for me and I own a ton of plastic craws.
  14. It doesn't hurt anything. I have seen a noticable gain in distance and easy of pitching and flipping jigs though.
  15. Just keep trying, fish will get hungry and they have to eat
  16. Try fishing smaller lures slower.
  17. Med light fast spinning rod Medium Moderate casting rod Medium Heavy Fast casting rod
  18. There are like 4 or 5 jars of Josh's at my local walmart. I should go buy them all.
  19. $100 or less: Mettle from academy Menace from academy - 50% off and $50 right now BPS Pro Qualifier LEWS LFS LEWS TOURNAMENT MB DAIWA CT
  20. If you are flipping into heavy cover I would go with an aluminum frame reel. The Black max will work buy won't last as long as an aluminum frame reel.
  21. If you haven't tried a zero gravity jig give it a shot! I love tossing it in the shallows on my spinning gear. I typically use a chigger craw or a 4 in keitech impact for trailer. I also picked up some booyah baby swim jigs from ffo for $1 last month and love them as well. I believe they are 3/16th oz.
  22. Shopping online is where you will save. I picked up a Vendetta and a Fenwick Eagle for $42 together! I ordered a $50 H20 Menace yesterday and I'm really excited to get it.
  23. I would get a lews mach combo before a max combo. The sellus rods and sienna reels are decent. You can build a better rig yourself. Lightning shock rods will be better than the combo rods, $40, and a pflueger trion/president spinning reel and a mettle reel if you are at academy. I don't know where you are shopping though.
