  1. awesome. Thank you A-jay. I had one on my maxium, and the prop sits evenly with the housing. Thank you again
  2. Could someone show me a pic of the ninja grass cutter on a Fortrex. Thank you
  3. same thing happened to me on Tuesday, only mine was a 9 1/2 lbs catfish. My heart was beating fast when I thought it was a bass☺
  4. Sam's sells Duracell agm batteries from 159$ to 179$
  5. It happens. I punch heavy weeds and set the hook extremely hard. it's on the hooksets that it digs in. I have been using Braid Aide and it seems to be preventing this. In saltwater fishing they will take a new spool, tie the line to the reel and go about 15mph, throw the spool overboard and reel in. This also will prevent the line from digging in.
  6. definitely the 852 if you're gonna go with the nrx. you would be VERY disappointed throwing a 3/16 weight + the plastic on a 853. I bought the 853 for 3/16 oz and it's just a little bit stiff for it. It casts much better with 1/4 oz an up.
  7. what oz weight do you normally use. I have the NRX 853 and it is only really good for 1/4 oz plus a small creature bait. I use braid to fluro and it's sensitive, almost too sensitive. should have see the stick I set the hook on yesterday. Almost 12" long? That being said, I love my NRX, but dollar for dollar my KISTLER H3 LMH is just as good of a rod.
  8. I have a NRX 853. I have tried the Alberto, it's to thick. rattled the guides on every cast. I tie the FG knot now. it takes a little practice. once you learn it, you'll love it. like Hook2jaw said, the important part is at the end (it's funny, I do 21 too) when you tie your hitch knot make it as tight as possible. the FG does not effect my casting at all.
  9. do you use a trailer?
  10. you might want to look at a KISTLER helium 3. I don't know what your price range is, but in my opinion, they are the best bang for the buck. I have a G Lomis NRX and I find myself throwing the Kistler over it.
  11. I have that charger. Has been solid for 3 years. I can recharge my batteries in 12 hrs or less
  12. ^This
  13. I just looked up Jason's info. I ordered his DVD. Great advice. I am still interested in some hands on training, someone who would explain maps in better detail and take me out on the water and teach me there also.
  14. l would like to thank everyone for the information. I would like to consider myself an above average fishermen and would like to take my fishing to the next level (so to speak). I have watched hundreds of YouTube videos and belong to BU. I would like to get so hands on training to help make me a better fishermen
  15. I know time on the water is the most important thing. I am wondering if there are any people that teach bass fishing ( maps, electronic's ect...)
  16. I'm not sure what parts you ordered. if I were to take it apart I would order a kit from fish 307 . com. while you have it apart I would replace the o rings, seal (this is the part that is probably leaking) and the brushes. kit cost $15. There is a YouTube video that shows how to turn the arbor (this is the big piece that holds the shaft) You will need to turn this and try it before you have it fully assembled. it sounds stupid, but if the arbor is in the right position, the motor will turn at the fastest speed
  17. I can't see your brushes. my guess it's one of 3 things or all 3. You definitely have a bad seal, like Tom said. it could be bad brushes ( not likely). sounds like a bad arbor. Sometimes an arbor can be cleaned up and will work, if not it will need to be replaced. I would take it to a shop. if it is just the seals, it will cost around 90$
  18. I have the Majorcraft Don Iovino Signature Series finesse rod teamed up with a Diawa sv105. I LOVE THIS SETUP. I have let 2 friends use this setup. They each have the same setup now. It's well ballanced and casts extremely far. Buy this reel, you won't be disappointed. I have a curado 70 I tried on this rod, the Diawa is better suited
  19. I will be going to Portland in August. Could someone recommend guides in the Portland vicinity for bass or sturgeon. Thank you
  20. I have been lòoking for a new fish finder. I can get a helix 10 mega for $1700 or a Helix 12 for $1500, which would you choose?
  21. I just got a pair from ultimate.outdoors. They're the real deal. Used my 20% off coupon and got them for under $130
  22. Just went through this. If you have a vision plan, it won't cover Costa's.($610 ) A vision plan should cover Oakley's ($568 if you don't have a plan.
  23. I have 3 tat sv's and 2 70's. They are both great reels. The 70's I have set up for pitching weeds and jig rods. The sv's, I have on my bottom contact rods and a frog rod. It all depends on what you are using them for! The 70's do fit better in my hand, but the sv if set up right is almost impossible to backlash.
