Replacement treble hooks
Sorry for hi jack this thread, but since we are all about treble hook and jerk bait. Anyway change the back hook to feathered one? I did on one of my pointer 100. I found the action become more subtle (too subtle?) and so far still no bite. I caught quite a few before this mod.

Slowest Buzzbait
I'm not sure if this consider a buzz bait for you, but I can pause this buzz since it is kind of float.

No stank sandals
I always wear crocs for all activities especially fishing. I do have more than a few around my house. It is great for rock, sand and water but not slippery stuff and it last a long time. One bad thing small sand and rock can get it pretty easily and it is very annoying. For boat and kayak I use speedo water/hybrid shoes, dry pretty quick and not bad for anti slip.

Durable multi-use bait caster between $100-$150
Either shimano curado 70 or tatula SV should be good for all around reel. The both good, cast very far and light weight enough. They both should be able to handle lure weight range from 1/4 up to ... oz very well. The curado will suffer on line capacity a little bit if you choose to go with bigger line but the smaller/narrower profile plus sit really low on the reel seat of curado is more comfortable when you fish with jig or any finesse type. The best way for you is to try to hold both with your prefer rod to see which one is more comfortable for you.

1 or 2 piece?
I'm also prefer 1 pc rod especially on bait caster, but I don't mind using 2 pcs rod either. I actually own quite a few 2 pcs rod, mostly spinning setup and 3 baitcasters one with happens to be my inshore rod and another me UL rod. I own 2 pcs rod so I can put those in the trunk of my car with a few lures so I can stop anywhere anytime and don't take up space in my car. Debating between sensitive and strength between 1 pc and 2 pcs, I'm believe 1 pc win hand down, but not far off as long as you know what you are doing like feel from the line instead of your rod, that way you can few everything under water, set the drag loose enough and not to horse or flip any heavy fish, you should be just fine and your 2 pcs should last as long and as enjoyable as 1 pc rod.

Looking for a good all-around jig to use to practice and get better at jig fishing. Looking for advice?
I can't provide you any advice since I just started fishing jig as well. I started with 1/4 oz finesse jig (siebert sniper and strik king) pair with baby menace as trailer and get pretty good result so far. I fish pretty shallow 5-10 feet, and finesse football jig seem to get less hang up.

An interesting Ned bait option, Damiki Hydra
Instead of Damiki hydra, you might try Yamamoto Hula grub instead, smaller body with add twin tail.

Skipping Distance
Same situation, dock in my lake mostly floating dock with LIFT so no room for me at all to skip. Some time i skip under pontoon instead but with in 15 feet. Since I learn skipping so I use that to my advantage instead of casting hudd 68 into shoreline I would skip instead to get a quieter entrance, that can be done but only 10-15 yds

Lure Weight- Exceeding it?
Lure rating is just a guideline, each rod loaded differently even form same manufacturer. So to answer your question, you have to try if your rod can handle your lure without too much overload. I have Fenwick Ateos with lure rate up to 1 oz, I use this up to 1 3/4 oz no problem but with hudd68 special 2oz is feel over load. I also have Phoenix MBX ultra lure weight 1 1/2 but this one can handle 2 oz lure just fine. If you wanna carry only one rod, then get the one that can handle 2-8oz, 7'9 - 7'11, to cover different type of lures. Now to over load your rod, it is not only casting that you should be concerned with, but to get a good hook set too. Too soft of a rod and yield to improper hookset, you either loose your catch of a lifetime or break your rod.

Plopper hooks
I also broke rear split ring on 90. I got VMC inline hook and owner hyper wire split ring to replace both hook. If it works out I will replace 2 of my 110 as well.

Spawning behaviors(?)
Continued... Today I went out to check on my friend, let's name him James Jr. Only him around today no spouse. Again he came confronted me just 3-5 feet away. I even stepped down in water and he didn't move abit. I pitch my hudd 68 at him and he didn't move also came around to check on the hudd. I know now that he is catchable. I play with him a little bit with hudd and 6" Senko. I got him to attack my hudd and Senko multiple times. Of course I didn't set hook just wanna see how he reacted to my lures and how I can detect those bite with my rod. Sometimes he just pushed the lure and sometimes he really attacked with head shake. I know he not gonna get himself hook since it is weedless and he is only twice the size of it. So much fun, I didn't even care catching other bass today. BTW if you think you slow on Huddleston slow down even more, that how I get most attack from him. Thanks James Jr. to give me so much fun today, I hope you stick around and nobody see you and try to catch you.

Preferring mid range over high end reels
It is not all about price, it is about comfort, comfort to your life style of fishing and also comfort to your wallet. Ferrari, BMW and Hyundai all can get you from point A to point B, but some want to ride in style, some want it fast, super fast some don't care as long as they get there. About reel, there are differences in technology and also material, some might want lastest technology like DC reel in shimano some what it light weight like those CI4+ or magnesium, some just plain want top of the line and some just don't care as long as they can go out and fish. You pick your own style and your comfort, don't have to be in fashion or follow others and as long as you don't suffering your kids, your family.

Are you a frugal fisherman?
Frugal and fishing sport? These two shouldnt be together. You already wasted money when you start this kind of sport. Think about all the lures, hook and plastic you lost, fishing line, tackle boxs, many rods many reels, boat, kayak etc..... This is very expensive hobby. My wife said with all the money I spent on fishing gear, she can buy all fish at market to eat for life and maybe next life as well.

Tightening Handle Nuts
This ^^^^^ and never use any loctite. If you or they install the handle correctly, there shouldn't be any play in handle. You can also try by spin drag star all the way or halfway in before you install handle. Make sure after everything is done you have enough room to back the drag star until no drag to spool.

Which line is on my reel?
Most of copolymer sink, my old bps XPS premium monofilament also sink, go figure. If the line is the size you want on the reel, and no visible damage, and the line still look clear not murky (you can do pull test), then you can re-spool inside out and use conditioner to help out with the coil. If it is too much problem the re-spool with brand new line.

Shimano fan boy.
I didn't get the core, the guy being difficult. I end up with used Aldebaran 50mg7 instead. Gotta live with silver reel for now until the next core come around. Worst come to worst I just replace with 50e gear ($20) or core gear ($30).
