Some goodies arrived this morning…
I think the curado 200i series was the best looking Curado. then after this reel they went back to green lol

True Cost of Fishing Tackle
I'm always getting the deals in my inbox from St. Croix. but never on the Loomis IMX Pro which is the next rod i want lol
-
Is rod/reel aesthetics super important to you?
I can't do the purple rod thing other than that I'm pretty easy so no St. Croix Mojo rods for me lol that being said I think the Loomis IMX pro rods are super sharp looking. I only have one model (the MBR903C) but i want to add one of the spinning rods to my arsenal in the future.

St. Croix 7'1" M casting rods - Bass X or Mojo?
i was looking over on TW and if you look at the reviews of the Bass X everyone is saying their reel seats are breaking. something to consider

St. Croix 7'1" M casting rods - Bass X or Mojo?
I just cant do the purple rod thing, so for me it would be Bass X
-
Medium power spinning rod
If you can still get them a 7 foot St. Croix Avid rod in either ML power or M power would be awesome I think. I have long felt they are the best bang for the buck out there. not sure if they have been discontinued though because of the new Victory rods??

Light Power Rod Thoughts
its not cheap but I have owned a G. Loomis SJR700 GL3 for 18 years which is 'mag light' and paired with a 1000 size shimano reel and 6 pound suffix siege it is amazing. it has a very light tip I'm actually looking around for a replacement in the next few years as the reel seat is basically worn out. One of the models I was looking at was the SJR IMX Pro light models (again not cheap but probably awesome) they make a 6 foot Light power and a 7'6 light power. I'm leaning towards the 7'6 as I love long rods.

Thoughts on this reel and if it’s a good buy
agreed. I have a curado 200i that has the same red brakes and i never touch them. ever. I leave the cast dial set at 3, internals set to 2 on 2 off and i only ever touch the cast control knob

One more gloomis rod
I have the IMX Pro MBR 903C and I love it the combo of the MBR taper with the 7'6 length is awesome.

Want to buy a new rod and need advice
I have the Loomis IMX Pro MBR 903C which is a 7'6 MH rod. its awesome for all kinds of things. I like the extra length for casting distance.

Which rod(s) pull (s) double duty?
I have a Loomis IMX Pro MBR 903C that can do everything. its an awesome rod

Rod Advice: Versatile Casting Rod
I have the IMX Pro MBR 903C and its amazing. I throw everything on it with a Curado 200i and 12 pound Sufix Siege.

NRX+ utility rod...?
MBR903C or 904C?

Are G Loomis rods ever on sale?
I bought one of the Loomis Travel rods a few years ago from ALF during a Black Friday sale that was on sale for about $100 off. Even with our exchange rate (im from Canada) I was still ahead.

Drag on Your Heavy Reel Combo
I have a curado 200i and it has i think max 12 pounds of drag pressure. When I have it cranked down I still can't pull any off. its enough I think I have a tranx 400 for pike that has 25 pounds of drag pressure Im sure I could pull up a tree stump with it lol

Shimano stuff
Thats one thing I hate about all these 150 size reels they are coming out with. 200 size spools are much better IMO.
-
Shimano stuff
Remember the in late 90s and early 2000s when people had higher end Shimano spinning reels bind up when wet? they used to call them Shimbindo's lol I believe they have corrected this problem but I heard they were in denial about it for years lol
-
Shimano Tranx worth it?
I have a tranx 400A that i use for pike and one day musky (still trying lol) and its amazing. I have no doubt the smaller sizes are just as good. one thing to note though is that the 200 size has the curado K thumbar design that no one liked lol so with the 150 size they changed it thankfully.

Mono vs flouro for big baits
I've been using Sufix Siege on my Tranx 400A in 20 pound test for big baits. its been great for the last 2 years I've been using it.
-
Shimano stuff
this was my first baitcasting reel bought boxing week on sale in 1999. love my Curado 200i and Stradic FK reels on my main bass setups:
-
Shimano 1.20.23??
thats true. I have a tranx 400A and its amazing. still, the shiny gold metal of the conquest is really appealing lol
-
Shimano 1.20.23??
I wonder how the Conquest will sell considering is $600 US price. Cost of living is rising everywhere right now.
