  1. arent those the ones that St. Croix just started using?
  2. yeah I hear ya. that being said I barely ever have to oil mine anymore. must be so much of last years oil on it there is a permanent layer lol
  3. cool! Ya I think thats the reason people don't like the I models. no idea why otherwise??
  4. ok thanks guys. my local tackle store has it on the shelf I'm going to get two bottles and be done. its all I can find right now.
  5. Hello, so I am running low on the little vials of Bantam oil that comes with Shimano reels. for the last few years I have been using the Berkley Reel oil that was available at my local tackle stores and it appeared to be almost identical. worked awesome for lubing reels as well as oiling the brake drum on my Curado 200i However, now, I cant get it anymore, and its not on Amazon Canada etc. Not much reel oil is. Even Cabelas.ca sucks. the only reel oil I can find is the Abu Garcia oil. anyone have any experience with it? it might even be the same as the Berkley oil since its all owned by Pure Fishing lol thanks -Hulk
  6. which one do you like the best? I have a 200i that i really love but some people didn't like them compared to other models because you have to put a drop of oil on the brake drum every once in a while.
  7. I pack 6 rods in my plano 9 foot rod tube, rods each with its own rod sock and then I bundle them together with pipe cleaner when going on road trips. You could probably do something like this.
  8. I would use Sufix Siege 10 pound mono in smoke green colour
  9. pretty much an all purpose bass and light duty pike rod. I throw a lot of spinner baits and big inline spinners like the #5 Mepps Black Fury. I also throw cranks sometimes too
  10. I was having problems with it using modern slick mono lines like Sufix Siege and Elite. Once I switched to the palomar knot I can't break the stuff anymore. I would just tie the palomar instead. its easier and stronger anyway.
  11. I have to run a steel leader when fishing spinnerbaits because we have pike up here that love to smash them. so I only buy the type that has a closed loop.
  12. I will put in a vote for the 2022 Shimano Nasci. this updated model has the screw in handle and is super smooth I just bought a 1000 FC and its awesome
  13. ah ok perfect thanks guys!
  14. Hi, so my new IMX Pro arrived over the weekend, and I noticed the hook keeper was on top of the rod. is this an issue? for line catching etc? see pic:
  15. see the 2015 model E6X rods were hit and miss. some were good and some were not. the 903 MBR E6X that had was ok but it wasn't very crisp at all, a bit too soft for a MH rod IMO. I have a 2018 model E6X spinning rod and its night and day compared to the 2015 E6X rod I have. they made them much better when the redesigned them. Now they are called the GCX but they use the same rod blank. One thing I did notice about my new rod is that the hook keeper is mounted on the top of the rod which I don't think i have seen before. is this a problem? I don't think the line can make contact at that point but I'm not sure???
  16. my old school Curado 200i gets an upgraded rod! my Loomis IMX Pro MBR903C came today! I've wanted one of these for a long time. it feels amazing! this replaces a 2015 model E6X
  17. my old school Curado 200i gets an upgraded rod! my IMX Pro MBR 903C came today! I've wanted one of these for a long time. this replaces a 2015 model E6X
  18. Thanks Guys I got a refund from the original order (with the damaged IMX Pro) and ordered the model i was looking for off AL. Tough to find certain rods these days, covid really messed up production in some lines because of component issues. I can't wait to fish the IMX Pro. it will be paired with my still in awesome condition curado 200i PG.
  19. I'm in the process of ordering the IMX Pro MBR903C I like the extra length of the 7'6 version of the MH MBR rod I currently have a 2015 E6X version. I like it but I want something more crisp. the GLX does not come in the 7'6 version
  20. So I am in Ontario Canada and I am looking to upgrade my 2015 model E6X to an IMX Pro MBR903C. I found one locally that can ship but when the tackle store was packing it up they noticed a guide ring was missing. They are trying to find me one but may end up refunding me the cash instead. Has anyone ordered from the two big online USA websites? (AL or Fish USA?) I have ordered from AL but it was a 3 piece travel rod so it was easy to ship in its tube. I know I would be paying duty, I don't care. I have checked a few other stores, no one has the IMX Pro in stock. thanks
  21. *** might have them. I bought the 6'9 MH spinning rod from them on Black Friday sale a few years ago. I have caught stripers with it in Cape Cod on vacation. oh I guess we can say the name?? AL are the initials lol
  22. for what its worth, i've been upgrading all my 6'6 and 7' rods to 7'5 and 7'6 rods and I do notice longer casting. how much I don't know I won't buy a rod anymore that isn't 7'5 or 7'6. I like them too much. Im a bank fisherman though, so the extra casting distance really helps.
  23. Very nice! I have two escape travel rods, both non GLX versions. I have the 7 foot M fast that you have but non GLX and I have the 6'9 MH rod as well love them. I believe they are discontinued now though
  24. I was under the impression that although they both contain SCIII graphite they were not the same rod blanks???
