  1. probably true yes. everything going up up up
  2. With the price increase on the Expride to $350 it makes no sense to get one when you could get a G. Loomis IMX Pro for $400 which is a better rod, more durable, and has a million times better Warranty. Just sayin'
  3. Sufix Siege mono is the best I've ever used. its super strong, slick and low memory. I use it on both my baitcasting and spinning rigs.
  4. there's no way the 901 is heavier than the 902. its a softer rod and lighter in the backbone. its not going to weigh less.
  5. A cool pic of my main setups, imx pro SJR 901S and MBR 903c with Stradic and Curado reels.
  6. I have the SJR 901S in the IMX Pro version and it's an incredible rod for all things small. I love throwing the #3 Mepps black fury on it, the red and black dressed version is my all time favorite lure. I caught this nice pike on it earlier this week. Using a steel leader of course. I have mine paired with a stradic 1000 and I use 6 pound Sufix Siege mono. Its a rocket launcher caster. But yes it is a soft rod.
  7. take it out of the box and show us the full frontal!
  8. I use 6 pound Sufix Siege mono and I cast everything small. like #3 Mepps Black Fury, 1/4 oz topwaters and small minnow type baits.
  9. yes its butter smooth, solid and the drag is super smooth. no QC issues here like there was with the early run of them.
  10. What about a GCX MBR model 783 or 843?
  11. My Loomis IMX Pro SJR 901S gets an upgraded spinning reel to a Stradic 1000 FM! Super sweet reel!
  12. It's nice to see some positive St. Croix experiences posted. On other platforms like reddit and facebook St. Croix is still getting clobbered daily. People are now running into their Trigon cork falling apart on the handles of their Trigon rods. Whatever adhesive they have been using they still don't seem to have it right.
  13. its a bit of a shame because for a time in the late 90s early 2000s the Chronarchs were arguably the best baitcasting reels available. it would be a shame to let the line die.
  14. Looking to upgrade my 1000 size spinning reel on my imx pro SJR 901 S light powered spinning rod, for use with 6 pound mono. Which reel between these two should I get? one thing I don't like is super fast reels. The stradic ratio is 6.1:1 and I think the Ultegra is 5.0:1 how much faster is the stradic? I'm also thinking which one will look better on my imx pro rod lol I mainly throw inline spinners like the #3 mepps and small crankbaits. thanks
  15. you just have to use a program to resize the pic. or email me I gotta see lol rfederchuk@gmail.com
  16. If I had the cash I would go new GLX over either because I love the black and gold classic loomis colors. they remind me of my first loomis rod back in 1998. I a bit anal when it comes to rod color lol i don't like the robins egg blue of the NRX lolol
  17. oooohh awesome can you post a pic of it on your rod? i want to upgrade to one of those! show us the full frontal!
  18. yes so I posted this on a shimano support forum and the rep confirmed that it is the Ultegra and up that has a bearing, on the saltwater side its the Saragosa and up.
