  1. I have read/watched a lot of good things about the Dobyns Glass Chatterbait/Spinnerbait rods: http://dobynsrods.com/store/#!/DC-736CB-GLASS-labeled-DC-735CB-GLASS/p/78078711/category=22175368
  2. As always, there is a lot of great insight in these posts. With that said, you can never go wrong quoting iron maiden! #UpTheIrons
  3. From my experience, it has been very stable in most conditions. I stand in mine all the time.
  4. For me, it was a paper route first (liked it except when chased by dogs), and then bagging groceries at Shaw's SuperMarket.
  5. I have one and love it. Very stable and great to fish from. Here is a great thread that will answer your questions:
  6. Yep, same here in Omaha. Clouds got in the way a little, but still very cool.
  7. My PB (7.3) came while fishing from shore (middle of a rain storm) on a 13 acre pond in Massachusetts nearly three (3) decades ago: http://www.mass.gov/eea/docs/dfg/dfw/habitat/maps-ponds/johnson-pond.pdf
  8. Agreed - great thread. Thank you for bringing it back.
  9. Same issue I ran into - so many choices and for someone new to fishing jigs, the differences of the descriptions were lost on me.
  10. OP: You likely have found something by now, but if not & you can bump up the spend amount slightly, Dobyns has a real nice chatterbait rod in the mismarked part of its online store. Here is the link: http://dobynsrods.com/store/#!/DC-735CB-GLASS-labeled-DC-736CB-GLASS/p/78078712/category=22175368
  11. Outstanding work - I think it turned out great! Congrats
  12. I called Dobyns with basically the same question. Was advised to go with the 704 over the 703.
  13. I have used them on spinnerbaits and done very well with them
  14. Maybe I am not reading this correctly, but if you can get the Steez SV for only $15 more than the Zillion that is what you should do. I have the Zillion SV TWS and love it. Steez is even more refined.
  15. No kidding. If the OP can get that kind of pricing, why not go for the best they have.
  16. Welcome to the club - it sure is fun having these little pond boats. If you haven't already done so, take a little time and read through this entire thread. Many great ideas in here.
  17. Have all three within 15 minutes of home. Usually end up at Lowe's or Menards. HD just doesn't do it for me.
  18. Haven't messed around with pictures, but did notice board is running much slower lately.
  19. Love the Flat Dawg - just picked up 6 more packs last night on TW. Should have bought more.
  20. I think there have been a few posts in this thread about using an outboard. For me, the trolling motor and battery meets my needs for the small ponds and lakes I fish.
  21. For me, the go to lures for the 1 acre pond I fish have been a small profile spinnerbait (BooYah Pond Magic) and a weightless Texas rigged stick bait (Havoc Flat Dawg). Always seem to catch decent numbers with these baits.
  22. Here you go, hours and hours of informative posts:
  23. This is exactly what I have been doing at the local pond and getting very good results. Love using the Flat Dawg!
