  1. Reporting in from Omaha, Nebraska: A whopping total of 5 bass so far in 2017.
  2. Man, that looks (and sounds) delicious. It was a pizza night for us. It was tasty!
  3. What a great price. Looks like I was too slow though, already sold out.
  4. Thank you for the info -- I really appreciate it. I am still trying to sort out which reels to go with, but I am liking the looks of the Shimano Scorpion DC.
  5. Not trying to hijack this thread but I am curious about how much the custom fees generally are. I am looking to pick up a few overseas reels and trying to figure out how much more it will be due to fees.
  6. Follow up - went out yesterday for about an hour. No surface vegetation anywhere on the pond, but did find sections of very green subsurface weeds. Did not see any bait fish or signs of bedding fish (likely way too early for this area). Caught 1 small bass (guessing only 1 pound at best) on a white chatterbait. The coloring did not look that great (very pale coloring) though not sure if that is due to water temps or some other issue. Will try a few more times once water temps warm up. I'm really hoping that this pond still has good supply of healthy fish.
  7. I really enjoyed this. Having just gotten back into fishing after a rather extended layoff, and having never caught a bass on a jig, I found this instruction very valuable. Look forward to trying it out.
  8. I've tried it once or twice - just didn't feel right. I will stick with no music.
  9. In store only or also available online?
  10. Please post pics when you do this - I really need to find something to secure my rods.
  11. This is what I did with my Pelican -- worked just fine.

  13. Great point and well said -- thanks It is this kind of perspective/insight that I have come to appreciate from the boards. Thanks!
  14. Question for those that have the 735CB or 736CB, I noticed that Dobyns lists it as "fast action," yet I have noticed on other companies' websites that their "spinnerbait" type rods are listed as "moderate" or "moderate fast." Does the fact that the Dobyns rod is glass allow for the faster action compared to the graphite rods on the other sites? I am really interested in this rod as my chatterbait, spinnerbait, small to medium crankbait, and swim jig rod, but have limited (3 rods) space on the Pelican 10E that I cannot make a wrong decision. Hope the question makes sense -- any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
  15. I had the boat for only 1/2 a season last year and I had 2 rods, on separate days, go overboard. Thankfully caught 1 before it sank and got lucky and snagged the other from the bottom. I am still looking for some strapping system to secure the rods.
  16. Look forward to your report. Been really thinking about the MGL has my first "nice" reel.
  17. Lifelong Bruins fan here -- remember the Rick Middleton, Mike Milbury, Terry O' years well.
  18. Very Nice! I have been eyeballing this one and REALLY want to get this.
  19. Just want to chime in and say I really enjoy the fishing reports/insight that this thread provides. It has been nearly 30 years since I moved away and I sure do miss living/fishing back there. Hoping to take my wife and sons on a family trip back there this summer (Carver/Plymouth) area to see relatives. Until then, I look forward to reading about your fishing outings.
  20. Will refrain from taking sides on this one: Good deal at big box/online v. supporting your local stores. My Omaha Walmart store has the same $124.00 price. Looking at the display and talking with staff, that is a clearance (closeout) price.
