  1. Thanks for posting this - great article.
  2. Same here - really like them and have had no issues.
  3. I just bought this Zillion reel and love it - already thinking about picking up another.
  4. Agreed - that is why I enjoy the experience, knowledge, and insight that this forum provides.
  5. Fished a little pond by the house for a few hours this morning. My son and I were the only ones there. Ended with a dozen bass - all on Booyah pond magic spinnerbait. Peaceful way to start the day.
  6. I bought two padded/swivel/folding seats for my Raider from Academy Sports. Spent less than $50.00 total on them.
  7. Thinking about heading over to the "Z" this long weekend. Have had limited success in the past.
  8. For me, Booyah Pond Magic spinnerbaits (3/16 ounce) are for numbers. Just love using them. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Booyah_Pond_Magic_Spinnerbaits/descpage-BYPMBB.html
  9. From what I am seeing on the website, it is buy 3 and get 1 free. Still nice to get a reduced price, but not nearly as good as I had hoped for.
  10. I was all set to order the CI4+ for $229.00 since for a $30 difference, I was getting a better reel. Now with the price drop on the Stradic, the difference is $100 and I am having a hard time justifying the more expensive reel. Really struggling on this one.
  11. This went south when you titled the thread "...my pond." With that said, either have a friendly conversation where you make no demands or just stay silent and keep fishing. Stiring up trouble likely will backfire on you.
  12. Yes, that is my understanding. The back will spin without a rudder when the TM is placed on the front. If you have time, go back through the thread -- there are some good examples of home made rudders on here. Good luck and make sure you share pics when you have it completed.
  13. I am running the trolling motor in the back. Reading through this thread, there are a number of people who have placed it on the front of the boat. It seems that the key is having a rudder on the back of the boat to keep the backend from spinning around.
  14. This is my approach/thought process as well.
  15. Yes, I was wondering if that is what it was leading up to.
  16. Full disclosure, what you see there was after about a minute of trying to unpick. With my son laughing at me and my only baitcaster now inoperable, I gave up. Not my proudest fishing moment. It surprised me how much of a pain it was to cut all the line out.
  17. Just had this happen to me a few weeks ago. I was extra careful to look behind me as I was casting near some trees while out on the lake. What I forgot to do was make sure that my son, who was sitting right behind me, was also not casting at the same time. Snagged his line and was greeted with a nice whack to the back of the head as his rod slammed into my noggin. The results, as you can see, were not pretty. I gave up and went home - cut it all out and just started over.
  18. Been about a month since my last post in this thread. I have gone back to the pond a few times (including last night) and starting to see things heat up. I am catching decent numbers in the 1 - 2 pound range, and the fish appear to be healthy (good coloration, no disease spots, very active during fight, swim off very quickly, etc...). A positive sign is that I am seeing good number of bluegill and caught a quick glimpse of the "mama" bass of the pond last night. It was only a few feet off shore, cruising back and forth parallel to the bank. It dwarfed the fish I have been catching.
  19. I understand the frustration and you raise some legitimate concerns. With that said, bashing "fisherman" on a fishing website is likely going to elicit some very strong counterpoints. Be prepared...
  20. Legal background working for Fortune 200 transportation company. Work primarily representing company in collective bargaining issues.
  21. Wow, that was amazing/crazy!
  22. I did the exact same thing last year along with damage to the rod. Did not appreciate the impact to the rod until a few weeks later when, during mid cast, the rod snapped 10" from the top. Rookie mistake but did give me justifiable grounds with my wife to buy a new rod.
  23. Love the look of these - nicely done!
  24. About a decade ago, driving in a fairly remote area of Idaho came up on a timber wolf.
