Recommend me a casting rod for light techniques
I use a 6'10" M Abu Garcia Vengeance casting rod for weightless wacky rigged Senkos. It's a great rod for that technique and best of all it is only $50 One of the best rods at that price range I have ever handled.

Fishing fathers
Very sad. My condolences on your loss. My dad recently gave me his rods and reels as he doesn't feel steady enough on his feet to go fishing anymore. I had to start thinking about the fact that he won't be around forever.

Fishing fathers
My son is 14. I started taking him fishing when he was a toddler using a Superman spincast combo. Over the years I took him on lots of trips where I tied his hooks, baited them, unsnagged and untangled his line and most times caught the fish and let him reel them in. He doesn't fish much with me since he has to do those things for himself. This year he has asked for a kayak so he can go with me. I see a new chapter in our fishing opening up soon. My experience has been kids love fishing then they don't until they do again. It depends on what phase of life they are in and if it is still "cool" to hang out with Dad.

Magnetic vs Centrifugal vs Digital Braking System
Makes perfect sense, as my Speed Demon is mag only and seems to be always on. I thought it had something to do with the magnet placement in the reel. Magnets in the Assassin are all in a row on one side ...... while the Speed Demon magnets have a space between each two and go around the whole plate .. .. ..

Magnetic vs Centrifugal vs Digital Braking System
Thanks @J Francho I wonder if my Kastking reels are in that category. If so it would explain why they are so hard to backlash.

Magnetic vs Centrifugal vs Digital Braking System
I like reels that have both centrifugal and magnetic. From what I understand one braking system controls the spool rotation at the beginning of the cast and one at the end. Truly the best of both worlds.

Last weeks game against the Jags and the last Superbowl are proof of what you are saying. The Falcons were 28–3 midway through the third quarter of SB 51... even a 25 point lead is not safe

New Braid From KastKing
I watched Kastking's live feed on the new braid (I was trying to win a spool) They said the Kastpro braid joins their lineup of fishing lines. So hopefully Superpower braid is here to stay. Kastpro is about $4 more a spool then Superpower but on the Brightside it's made in the USA

Do I need a trout stamp?
When I visited PA on vacation last year I purchased a Trout stamp. I was advised by the individual at the tackle store where I was getting my license that it was required if there was a "chance" that I would catch one even if I was not targeting that species. He asked the name of the body of water I was fishing and when I named it he said "Yep there are Trout in there." I purchased the stamp and caught no Trout. Not complaining for two reasons, the cost of the stamp I hope is used to fund stocking the Trout for everyone. Second reason is if I didn't purchase the stamp I would have caught a Trout by accident and I would have gotten a ticket because that's how my luck ran in 2017

KastKing Spartacus
I saw a vid where a guy loosened the two screws on either side of the magnets which seems to lift the strip. I found no need to do this as the brakes work fine as is. It is a very forgiving reel and great for those that are new to baitcasters. After buying this reel I went from someone who used a baitcaster every once in a while, to taking one with me every trip.

Pats vs Eagles Rematch of 2004! Lets look at the facts. This is the Eagles third superbowl. They lost the first 2 they appeared in including one to the Pats 24-21. Therefore logic would say I should choose the Pats to win Superbowl 52 Logic be damned. I am going to say the Eagles will win. My pic, the Eagles. Final answer.

I would love to see the two miracle win teams face off in the bowl. Jags a team that scored 10points last week against the Bills scoring over 40 against the Steelers in Pittsburgh?!? And the Vikings all but sealed in their coffin the last nail about to be hammered in when they score a miracle touchdown. However reality forces me to chose Pats and Eagles next week. Patriots game not included the other 3 games were some of the best playoff football in recent memory.

Got a yak
I am like you. I have my "waterproof" IPhone 7 in a waterproof cellphone case. It's doubly waterproofed! I do have a waterproof pouch that I can place it in and hang it around my neck. Problem is I use it to take photos of my catch. Fumbling around to free it with one hand tied up holding a fish is not easy.

Got a yak
Or a waterproof phone. They make those now.

Fishing Backpack Mini Review: Daiwa Tactical & Okuma Nomad
Thanks for the reviews. How much is the Okuma Nomad? The Daiwa seems a bit expensive. IMO anything over $100 for a backpack is overpriced. That's just me though others might not think so. I do like that Booger box though. Also those of us that wear prescription sunglasses need a place to store our regular glasses so that holder is a nice extra.
