  2. Can't go wrong with the Zebco Omega. I like the Pflueger President and Trion Spincasts as well: http://www.pfluegerfishing.com/pflueger-reels-spincast-reels/
  3. This is one of the backpacks I use for fishing. The Under Armour Hustle 2 Plenty of room for everything I need to carry including my vacuum sealed 40oz water bottle in one of the side mesh holders. Outside is water repellent which helps.
  4. 100% American, born here, raised here. Ancestry wise, according to my parents, I am a mix of Italian, Irish, German and Russian.
  5. Excellent job. I had a pug for 15 years. Great dogs, loyal, affectionate and always happy to see you.
  6. St Croix Premier 6'6" ML/Fast action or if you are on a tight budget a Shimano Sellus rod. They have technique specific rods in that line and I have the drop shot version. I highly recommend it.
  7. Can't go wrong with a Triumph. I have one and it has performed flawlessly for years. The cork on the handles is some of the best I have ever felt. Its amazing that this line is St. Croix's "value" line. If it's all you ever used you would think their high end rods can catch fish all by themselves.
  8. Too each their own I guess. The ending left me scratching my head. Total left turn from what they were building up to. The interpretive dance scene at the end was laugh out loud funny to me in what was supposed to be a deadly serious scene. I will watch season two though. I am a masochist like that
  9. Between was Ok. it was like a cross between Under the Dome, Lord of the flies and a Contagion movie. Can't really recommend it. Don't waste your time on the OA. Starts off great, Middle is fantastic, ending is What the F??!? bad. Just terrible.
  10. I am still scratching my head over the 86Lumber commercial. Damned if I am going to visit the site to see the conclusion.
  11. I thought the one with Melissa McCarthy saving everything in her green SuV was kinda funny.
  12. The Patriots played a perfect half of football. Grats to them and their fans. Brady should retire now, it will be hard to top going out like this. Bill should as well as I don't see him having the same success without Brady.
  13. Fenwick makes nice 2 piece rods. I recently bought a Daiwa Crossfire 2 piece rod and it is outstanding quality for a low cost rod. I agree with this. My Triumph 2 piece is a great rod, better than a lot of my 1 piece rods.
  14. Here is mine.
  15. The individuals who participated in these videos were brain damaged way before they allowed themselves to be kicked in the head or use their heads to smash in toilet seats.
  16. Went to Walmart this weekend. Shocks were on clearance here for $30 I took a trip over to K-Mart and they have a poorly kept fishing section. I was able to grab a 2-piece 6' Med/fast Daiwa Crossfire rod for $24 and a 2-piece Daiwa D-Shock 6'6" combo for $22 both are for a trip I am taking in July. I don't have enough 2 piece rods for my son and I.
  17. Sorry for the exaggeration, nothing lasts forever. If you read the rest of my post I wrote that I am doing everything I can to make my reels last as long as possible, not forever. I don't fish everyday. If I am lucky I have a dozen outings a month in the spring, same in summer and fall. Hibernation in the winter so my reels will last much longer than an everyday fisherman. Even longer if the everyday fisherman beats up his stuff. No one can argue that if you grease and oil your reels, store them properly when not in use, don't throw them to the ground, beat or abuse them they will not need to be replaced with a newer, hopefully not inferior model.
  18. There is a boat launch, with a fee to launch (can't remember how much, it was a few years ago), located off route 9P. There is room for 40 cars and trailers, in the parking lot. overflow parking is available. I went with a 15HP motor 14' aluminum boat and covered a good bit of the lake. There are a lot of spots to fish even close to the launch.
  19. I have 2 Walmart's about equal distance from my house. One never has any fishing clearance items. The other has a small fishing clearance section but they never have prices like the OP mentions. I did see a Falcon casting rod there original price $100+ on sale for $70
  20. Welcome to the forums. Saratoga Lake is great for multi-species fishing. I have caught everything from Bluegill, Crappies, Bass and a baby pike there.
  21. I bring a Hydro Flask vacuum insulated bottle filled with ice water. For food I pack a sandwich or 2 and a Clif Nut Butter Bar.
  22. I am brand loyal until I find another brand I like
  23. Same here. Take care of your reels, especially the ones you like, and they will last forever. My President and rear drag Trion reels are the old variety with the wooden knob. My Shimano Symetre is the old aluminum body version. Since they are not making these reels to the same standards I am doing everything I can to make them last other than retiring them.
  24. I would have preferred to see Dallas or Green Bay vs Pats in the bowl. I am cheering for the Pats to win only for the hope that Brady will ride off into the sunset and retire. No better time to go out then as a winner. If the Pats lose I can see him sticking around
