Sounds like the OP was fishing the Tennessee river......... I get cut off by bass boats almost every single time I go fishing, which is several times a week. I know that a lot of kids nowadays are jerks but the people that cut me off are generally older guys that can afford bass boats with power poles. So saying that kids nowadays have no respect is not necessarily the problem in my neck of the woods

Why not just buy a long sleeve shirt?? I'm all for blocking uv rays but why wear short sleeves + arm protectors as opposed to a long sleeve shirt???

The ramps up toward watts bar dam are less crowded. The crazy ones are wolftever (hwy 58) Harrison bay state park and Chester frost. There are some not so busy ones on the lower end, like maybe skull island. As far as fishing, everything I'm reading is rattle trap jerkbait and umbrella rig. YouTube has a lot of good chickamauga videos lately. It's Most crowded place I've ever fished so bring your patience with you. Parksville is supposedly awesome for jumbo spotted bass

Rivers and lakes are all one and the same in my neck of the woods. Only one natural lake in the entire state of Tennessee and that's reelfoot

I wonder if Osprey, bald eagle, river otter, Blue heron, and other bass ponder this moral dilemma. I think to claim that fishing with a rod and reel has a significant impact on bass population dynamics is flattering ourselves

Depends on whether I have a craving for caviar........... just kidding, I don't bed fish because it's not nearly as fun (for me) as just regular ole fishing. I have done it before but I'm not big on trying to catch the same fish (that I can see) for 30 minutes or more

Anywhere but guntersville. I know it's legendary but I haven't encountered anything except 10,000 bass boats, 99% of which with all frowns on their faces

I use both tactics here in East Tennessee and I have more luck with tightlining (cast and pendulum) but a lot of folks catch a lot more and bigger fish than me without casting (damiki). I really just never mark any fish so I cast at the banks, but it works very well. Gulp minnow and 1/8 oz jig head is all you need, and I don't use 4 lb test. That's just asking for it with all the zebra mussels

We got all kinds of them around my neck of the woods. Stonerollers, creek chub, and river chub all have tubercles (knots) on their heads and will catch all the fish in the river

Not sure if it applies in the north country but september is the best month for big smallmouth (for me) down here in Tennessee, and a lot of times it is also the hottest month. Days start getting short and bass feed heavy, but the water is still hot enough for their metabolism to be cranking wide open

I'm pretty sure Largemouth and smallmouth can't hybridize, a meanmouth is a spotted bass/smallmouth hybrid like bluebasser said

Hard to say on first fish but my guess is white bass. People always say hybrid have broken lines but most white bass also have broken lines
