  1. Perhaps you could live in a bubble where you control the weather to fit your personal preferences….. 😂 I learned a long time ago to love the weather every day because you can’t change it . But to quote Jimmy buffet, you can change your latitude
  2. Only the last 8 days of sept are fall on the calendar……. So a majority of the month is indeed summer
  3. I’m not sure what kind they are , my wife planted them even tho she doesn’t eat tomatoes. They are about the size of a grape
  4. Mondos ^^
  5. Wish I could send you cherry tomatoes @J._Bricker, got a couple hundred on the vine. I eat like 15 a day but it’s not making a dent
  6. Okra has always been my favorite but it’s easy to live on vegetables in my area. Large scale farms are virtually not existent due to the terrain so everyone just grows small gardens and feeds themselves instead of selling anything. We were raised on a variety of veggies, mainly corn beans okra tomatoes and squash.. Also lots of greens in the fall and onions in the spring. this is okra from my front yard (thank goodness no HOA at my house 😂)
  7. Well you take all that with ya to the tire store, been there…..
  8. At least it’s harder to steal with one wheel 😂
  9. I can get one for $90 but I have a smallish boat
  10. In your golden years, you get to give all your gold to the pharmacy
  11. @Texas Flood, broncos country…. Lets ride!!!! 😂 don’t feel too sad, you could be a bengals fan like me we have one thing in common, losing to San Fran in the Super Bowl
  12. That sucks @BluegillsTightlines, I get hives too. Mine are from bee stings and jumping into icy cold water. Usually some natural adrenaline and/or Benadryl will cause them to subside, never had to use my epipen
  13. I was ready to backreel for those gar, luckily it helped with the bass too
  14. If braid is not involved, a triple surgeons knot is my go to for connecting dissimilar diameter lines . Quick and easy to tie as well
  15. @FryDog62, eagle claw 6 lb mono. I did have a gar bite thru it but they can bite thru anything. I absolutely love gar fishing, they fight like crazy. I’ve had them cartwheel, tailwalk, and nearly dump a spool off 65 braid of a 6000c ambassadeur reel the hard pard is holding them without being murdered
  16. And by even I mean im usually a couple Dozen fish behind…..
  17. Well I don’t catch many 20” largemouth so we are even 😂
  18. 4th and 16…… come on bungles. Of course it was a penalty not an actual play made but they did commit it
  19. Fluke , tube, finesse worm on jighead. Also sometimes a bug swimbait will trigger them
  20. Hooked into a nice smallmouth while gar fishing with a fluke! Low tech video but captured a nice jump on film.
  21. My wife wanted to take some stuff down to the lakehouse and also wanted me to chop some firewood. Got a decent amount of wood stacked and figured I’d try to catch a gar in the kayak. Right before dropping the boat in, my wife pointed out a bald eagle fishing nearby, always a good sign. I only had one spinning rod with 6 lb line and a small selection of lures so I tied on a fluke. First throw a gar destroyed it on the surface and took me for a long ride then finally bit thru the line. Got rigged back up with my last fluke and casted to several more gar, lost another solid hookup. I got bored waiting on more to surface so I blind casted up on a shallow flat and something ate the fluke under the surface a little. It took off and loaded the rod and started towing my kayak, figured I had a big gar. Well then I saw it, a big smallmouth. Against my better judgment I got my phone up and running a video and leaned it against my stomach 😂 got some good video of a jump, the rest was quite janky but still glad I got it. The fish finally tired out and I got it into the kayak. I didn’t have a measuring tape or scale but I measured it laying next to my rod and I think it was between 20” and 20.5” , sure seemed larger but still a nice fish and not as skinny as they usually are, I’d almost put it at 4 lbs or better. I’ll post a separate report with the whole video , kind of long but some might enjoy it.
