If it ain’t one thing it’s another. The reason I like the idea of kayak tourney is keepers are smaller. Boat tourneys I would have to get 5 over 18”, don’t know if ive ever done that and I sure couldn’t keep them alive. Kayak accepts 12” keepers since you let them go. I’ve been known to catch some 13” bass now……

I want to fish kayak tourneys but I can’t make them hold still with mouth closed and my phone is always fogged over haha. And that’s in a boat where I can walk around

I know an old salty boat mechanic that started in Florida, he said the only way to really know which prop you want is to run them and compare. I even know some bass boat guys that arrange prop swaps at boat ramps so everyone can try different configurations

A 5 is usually 21.5” or more in east TN unless you luck into a rare rotund version. There are a few highland lakes with trout that might produce some fatties on occasion, they learn the DNR logo and follow the stock truck around haha

@flyfisher, we could put you on 20” SMB no problem but they run about 3.5-4 lbs 😂

A 40 horse? Just put any old prop on it. I even used to run a composite one with a 30 horse, just keep that boogered stainless on board for spare if it ran smoothly
