My late friend had a small cabin on a small pond in Maine. He said it used to be all trout but a few largemouth got in there. Another friend went up to stay with him and said he caught like 60 bass with a fly rod while trying to catch trout 😂 . From then on he was always mad at the largemouth for taking over the pond, I always told him that sounded way more fun than a trout pond

My buddy trapped a melanistic raccoon once, solid black. I’ve caught 9 albino but never seen or heard of an all black one except the one he caught

Crossword puzzles got me thru college, they put The NY Times ones in the free university daily newspaper. They were nearly impossible (for me) to complete after Wednesday thoough. I could absorb all the info the professor would say if I was working a crossword puzzle. Conversely if I looked at the professor and tried to listen to the lecture, I would retain almost zero information. It really ticked them off but it worked for me

@Woody B, I would think there’s somewhere you could find the spots grouped up deep in cold water and send them the heavy metal, blade baits and jigging spoons . Might be more like late January/February tho

I’ve barely scratched the surface of Cherokee but launched at panther creek state park most of the time and caught fish of some sort in the area. You can walk the banks for miles when the lake is low as well

No I let them go (or eat them if they are big enough) I used the skipjack for catfish , it’s apparently their favorite

It’s a fish eat fish world out there, why is the fry more valuable than a juvenile largemouth that’s eating the fry ? The juvenile has already beat some odds . luckily our feelings don’t amount to a hill of beans in the wild ecosystems

Well I was looking for the eagles nest behind our house with my $5 binoculars, didn’t find the nest but there were two eagles sitting side by side on a limb

I think I fished zero tournaments this year. I did fry a lot of fish, those days are always a win

Sometimes you just gotta go back to the basics. Pest control told them there was no fresh mouse evidence. Well I’m no pest control man but I can catch a mouse
