  1. Seems like not that long ago you were certain they were completely doomed, ah the wonders of sport
  2. I believe that is what used to be called “currency” in Kentucky hahaha. Back before ATMs of course
  3. That’s crazy @MN Fisher. Somehow y’all always have higher temps than me in summer , you’d think being a day and a half north of me it would be colder scoot east a bit over near @A-Jay and you’ll never have heat problems again haha
  4. Good time of year to fish there, the shrimp come shallow and everything else is with em
  5. Replacing transom is one hell of an undertaking, like fall into the bed with your belt still on and instantly snoring kind of project. I’ve done a couple, cut thru those braces once and just screwed it all back together with way too many screws haha. That wood looks fine in the pics , I definitely like the idea of fixing the leak instead of replacing the wood. Coat the threads of the thru bolts with 3M 5200 or something like that
  6. I’ve purchased many a NC fishing license, super easy and cheaper than getting one in TN !
  7. Oh no, ol crickety is throwing purple worms now??? I think you were dangerous enough with a whopper plopper, now the bass are just completely SOL nice catches as always
  8. Today I left the 85 degree water and drove upstream toward and dam and fished 64 degree clear swift water and didn’t catch any up there haha. Go figure
  9. I’ve got a bass barely over 24” mounted, it was from Texas bout 8 lbs, not a fat fish. That was back in college when dinosaurs roamed
  10. I’ve done a lot worse
  11. Thursday and Friday night I caught each in the same place with the same thing , water temp mid 80s. No electronics in this thing Cast worm at bank, reel in green fish and brown fish. Also I catch tons of smallies in wood, standing or laid down. They are bass, they eat the same things. Went to Michigan recently same story, green and brown ate the worm, both in trees. smallmouth night fishing usually involves a jig from what I’ve heard, i don’t try it myself because….. work
  12. Fished last night bout 7-8:30, got 3 lost a few. Yachts were ridiculous, took a massive wave over the transom
  13. I somehow fished mine out of the hose before it got to the tank
  14. I like catching them when it’s too hot or too cold for them to bite
  15. Bass don’t check air temperature, I’d try what you had figured out
  16. ? Travis McGhee still in…… cedar key ?
  17. I was getting smallies right on the bank in 85 degree water today
  18. A short evening trip turned out quite eventful……. We got some supplies and the dogs to the lake house for the holiday weekend, won’t have my boat down here til tomorrow. Got everything squared away by 6:30 and figured I’d try some kayak fishin. Got a largemouth right away with a tiny fluke on jighead , then got it stuck and rendered it nearly useless. Tried a finesse worm and smallies were chewing it , got 4-5 in a hurry. I was getting swamped by big yachts coming and going and thinking about heading home…….. then striper started blowing up! Or at least I think that’s what it was. Big explosions. All I had was 6 lb line and one spinning rod , tried some paddle tails but I think they were gone before I switched baits. Got to paddling swiftly on the way in with the $20 kayak and spooked a gar when I almost ran it over, it jumped way up right next to me in the dark, ?
  19. I just had some catfish I caught last week, it was phenomenal
  20. My wife’s uncle lives there!
  21. I have 6-8 “boats” at this point so don’t ask me………… most of them were free tho, it sometimes benefits us to have lots of friends and always be nice to them, they might just leave kayaks and such laying on your dock and tell you to keep them. I’ve also got my grandpas old v bottom, love that thing. Best “investment” I made was $300 in 2008 on an old aluminum canoe, it’s been to the ocean and Michigan a few times
