I just had some catfish I caught last week, it was phenomenal

I have 6-8 “boats” at this point so don’t ask me………… most of them were free tho, it sometimes benefits us to have lots of friends and always be nice to them, they might just leave kayaks and such laying on your dock and tell you to keep them. I’ve also got my grandpas old v bottom, love that thing. Best “investment” I made was $300 in 2008 on an old aluminum canoe, it’s been to the ocean and Michigan a few times

The only Canadian walleye I’ve had were from grocery stores in Michigan so not exactly fresh but they were good! Fish from warm waters taste great to me, just think about all the fresh fish from the Gulf of Mexico. Just gotta keep them alive or on ice, I think some people slack a little on that and have a bad experience. I’ve never bought into the cold water fish taste better theory, our fish taste the same whether the water is 45 degrees or 75 degrees

Water was a little fast, but a full moon evening session yielded some fish with one of them being yummy food

^what he said!!! The most shocking thing about weather is peoples reactions to it. Every single year they just can’t believe it. In my area it’s always around gatlinburg/pigeon forge/sevierville. The place has flooded a thousand times but it’s a total shocker to everyone every time

Sometimes I just close my eyes and hope death comes quickly haha . Things are crazy. I kind of wanted to get into tournament fishing back in the day until I entered one and rode 70 mph ramping ocean yacht waves. The only ones I’ve entered since then were with my buddies in their slow boats

^what he said. I hate riding in a “bass boat”, I’m white knuckles the whole time. I hit plenty of floating logs at 15-20 mph with 50 horsepower

Good thing about narrow stretches of river, you can catch them the same way in the same spot on July 4th, Christmas, Easter, and Halloween

I figured you’d be numb to it after hooking yourself 3-4 times this summer! ? that’s another one I always found funny about the dock owners not wanting people fishing around their dock. “Kids walk on the dock and swim here, what if they step on a hook??” kids fish in my boat and it’s got about 2,000-3,000 hooks on it
