BedRock ledges can cut through 30 lb braid pretty easily . I would also imagine “punching” in FLA with a 1+ oz weight would not work with 30 lb braid, most use 50 and up I believe

Got out in a little $20 yard sale kayak for about an hour this morning and missed one hard hit, then caught a nice spotted bass, possibly the oh so feared invasive Alabama bass or micropterus henshalli then I got out this afternoon in the boat and did some searching, fishing was slow as one river arm of the reservoir turned over and was reddish brown color. I did mark a few things and caught a LM and SM, so I guess I got the black bass triple crown for the day

The fish is not like us. If they saw a minnow with 9 eyes, they would eat it. If they saw an eyeball walking the lake bottom with legs, they would eat it

Auburn has one of the best fisheries departments in the country, if you could email them some pics and descriptions of the parasite they might be able to offer suggestions. I think we even sent them a trout once so they could diagnose a disease
