Boxing Day is tomorrow, my favorite day of the year (because Christmas is finally friggin over haha)

who would fish this for trout or crappie
That’ll catch trout and crappie for sure. Most people add a grizzly hackle feather to it (palmered over the peacock hurl body) but it’s not totally necessary. For quick effective flies I tie them without the hackle like yours

For The Budget Guy?
I would still go mono, just more like 15-17. I have thrown chatter on 12 before though, it works. But if a big one grabs it near grass or a dock it won’t i don’t like fishing heavier lures with thin line

Gravel pit lakes near Naples, FL
Fish inshore salt down there! Or even the surf, I saw some guys catching nice pompano off a pier in Naples. Those green bass will be waiting for you back in MN

For The Budget Guy?
I wouldn’t! Those are heavy lures, I like heavier line for those. my rods and reels are way cheaper than budget level gear haha

New Bait Infatuation
I tend to stay away from new hyped lures. Most times when I stray from plastic worms (like yesterday) it ends with poor results.

The Computer Age
Yea it’s ridiculous. My mom has an outback with LED lights all over the dash and a screen with tinted windows . You might as well drive around with a blindfold on after dark then there’s all the new fangled headlights riding too close behind you , blinding the driver even further. I HATE new vehicles!

Happy holidays
Same two meals, I’m in the same boat. I have to muster the strength to eat homemade sweet and sour chicken here in a few hours, I’m stretched out on moms hardwood floor in a food coma reading bass resource and watching sports

KVD 300 jerkbait
I don’t put any stock into what humans (including myself) think about lure action. I bought a bunch of hand pour soft plastics one time: swimbaits, flukes, craws, stickworms, and some beavers. The beavers look terrible in the water (to me). I’m sure you can guess where this is going, those beavers slay fish. I didn’t even have the magic “confidence” that you would think is required. I used them one day with no confidence because I couldn’t find my craws. Caught a fish. Still no confidence and then I caught a bunch of fish. I still think they look stupid in the water, but I ain’t the one eating them let the fish tell you their opinion

I like getting there at sunrise because you can’t fish all day if you don’t start in the morning

Frankentrailer roll on! @Smallies, somebody could probably just cut that off at the seam and weld a whole new one on there for pretty cheap if the kit doesn’t work out. Fab shop, trailer shop, etc- 2" Ball Hitch Coupler Suggestion Needed for Pictured Trailer Tongue
