  1. 20-22” smallmouth can’t get enough of them. I’ve caught some nice ones but this one sure stands out in my memory. Might even be a “PB” as the kids say, but I didn’t find the scale until after I let it go haha. I put them on a jig head, would definitely second ditching the bobber. If it’s cold outside, they will chew on the crawlers. It probably works when it’s hot outside too but hot worms are nasty so I haven’t tried that much. They will last for weeks in the cold unless they freeze all the way
  2. My brother made gumbo Friday night. He was nervous because he’s from East TN and lives in Philly, yet a gal from mobile, AL was dining with us and is of course a gumbo expert (naturally). Turned out pretty delicious!
  3. Bomber long A? Anytime!
  4. I rented a stump grinder once, it’s a wild ride
  5. @Darth-Baiter, Bob feeds them to his pond bass but I freeze them sometimes and smallies love them . The only problem is hiding them from my wife in the freezer.
  6. Catfishing is really good here, so much so that there are a few successful YouTubers that only fish catfish. They even do bait comparison videos. Flatheads are widely considered the most piscivorous (they even taught us that in college). Therefore you would imagine live bait is best but in their videos, cut skipjack always gets the big flatheads over live bait. They catch way better cats than me
  7. You can tell for sure by cutting them open. Only way to guess is probably by size, male LMB usually aren’t much over 4 lbs but there are exceptions. Maybe you could squeeze them and see what comes out? 😂 I don’t know, sounds a little personal
  8. ^ive been called a two legged garbage disposal my entire life 😂
  9. @Darth-Baiter, it’s not terribly interesting to see how I eat. I’m a glutton, if it’s not nailed to the floor, I eat it
  10. I miss scrolling up and down rapidly thru channels. I’m usually asleep before we get a show going nowadays
  11. Pretty funny! I got a sturgeon and a 2 foot walleye in a cast net once, the walleye was a heartbreaker to release haha. The worst in when you get like 6 carp in a single throw, totally destroyed
  12. Finally got my thumbs shredded this weekend , yee haw
  13. Had to cut grass and clean the gutters after hanging out with mom in the morning. Got the canoe launched around 4:00 pm. I embarked near a marina and decided to pull up Deep Dive to check on the wind, as that’s typically the limiting factor in a canoe it was blowing right into the front row of boat slips but nothing crazy. I tried a huge glide bait along the outside edges and in the first ten minutes a huge brown fish is following it. I naturally freak out…… he follows it all the way to the canoe and it’s a carp….. then a second carp is following the first one…….. what? I round the first row of boat slips to the back side that is more protected from the wind and I can hear carp beating the pontoon boats to death with their tails and see them everywhere splashing. They do this every year, I just figured maybe it was beyond that time already. so I pull up the map again and paddle to a protected area to try sight fishing Where all the yachts pontoons and jet skis had been coming in, the water near the banks was clay colored. Sight fishing was out of the question but I caught some largemouth anyway dragging a worm near a dock Made my way over to some riprap and that was the ticket! I got constant bites all evening, especially after the wind laid down. Smallies and largies , couple decent ones. All on the purple worm (and a bonus green sunfish)
  14. Hadn’t fished all week, started to have withdrawals……… So today I went from 7 am til 10 pm with a break from 3-5. I caught somewhere in the neighborhood of 50-60 fish maybe more, mostly white bass on topwater. Also got some smallies, one largemouth, a crappie and a few yellow bass. My buddies that showed up at 5 also caught maybe 20 apiece. got most of mine fishing with mojobass trigon and seviin reel, using pop R. Spooled up with seaguar JDM braid with pounce leader. Also used okuma Hakai and fluke style baits nose hooked. The smallies hit a purple worm rigged up on the mojobass trigon
  15. We are at the bottom of mountains so historic flooding is a nightmare, we get 500 year floods about twice a year 😆 the only prayer I have at getting a bite is fish a highland reservoir that stays mostly clear or go below a dam
  16. The priorities I have are obviously floatation, then speed, then comfy seat. I’ve paddle a few sit on top barges that were slow as molasses, didn’t enjoy that even though I could do jumping jacks on them. I’ll fish out of a small swift sit-in kayak with a mediocre seat rather than a stable comfortable slow sit on top. If I start to get uncomfortable in the small boats, I just hit the bank and walk around a while
  17. Hate to hear , rest in peace
  18. That’s the thing, the anti FFS crew has nothing to anti about with this trail 😆 , therefore rendering it useless to their comments
  19. I like spotted bass tournaments but not enough to pay to watch . I did see welcher also had a big largemouth at a weigh in photo
  20. I gotcha. At the end of the day safety is up to the person holding the steering wheel, not the tourney director.
  21. You’re kidding, right? Go slower
  22. Meanwhile Dustin Connell wins redcrest with a healthy mix of smallmouth, largemouth, and Alabama bass (he also got lots of white bass amongst them all). #OVERBLOWN
  23. Nice walk thru the woods @FishTax! If it was the December part of a normal winter those fish would be 4 lbers! 😂. Last fall/winter was a weird one
