  1. Indeed . Bottom shelf at most stores
  2. Bout anything works. I use stale bread
  3. I trap them off my dock on a lake with a wire funnel trap you get at wal mart or anywhere. I always seem to get shiners and baby bluegill in the lakes. And you have to release trapped bluegill in TN, they are only legal for bait if caught with rod/reel. But the shiners work great and usually get into the trap within 5-10 minutes of setting it
  4. I believe the Florida strain fish are stocked into Pickwick as well
  5. They are quite disgusting , which I’m assuming is why stripers and catfish can smell them. My buddy always tries to shake them off and never can, it makes a hilarious scene
  6. I don’t think you’ll have any trouble catching bass on a t rig with all the vegetation in Minnetonka. Just slither a straight tail worm through some weeds and a largemouth should be all over it. They also work well out in open water for dragging. I tried the zoom ultravibe speed worm for the first time this year and it’s very fun on a Texas rig. It works dragging or reeling
  7. I’ve almost broken the world record several times! Hahah I always wondered if anyone would notice........... it used to be 4 lbs even and I caught several 3 lb 9 oz
  8. I had a monster striper eat one that big (whole) 3 times in a row when it was completely dead. Also striper love cut skipjack here’s two from this spring, one that hit the whole dead skip, 44 inches and 36 lbs Then another 16 lb on cut piece of skipjack in a canoe
  9. It’s really good striper bait too
  10. I’ve broken a rod in the reel seat once but I’m pretty special rods are like sunglasses, you only break or lose the ones you don’t want to break or lose. The cheap crappy ones will stay with you for decades
  11. Sometimes I get powerful hungry out there on the water.......
  12. only had one jerkbait in the work truck for lunch break but I managed a herring. I did not have time to chop down a shrubbery with it
  13. It’s obvious you have grandchildren in your boat from that post
  14. Interesting. Also mixing in a lake I’ve never heard of, that’s always fun
  15. The one thing I’ve never had much luck with is “cast and crank.” I can’t stand it. A buzzbait is the only lure that works with for me
  16. 37 degree water and 36 bass??? Awesome day!!!
  17. I love those abu Garcia reels . Baitcasters are for heavier lures, like spinnerbaits, jigs, most crankbaits and top water. The spinning will be better for grubs and weightless worms and inline spinners
  18. The bass police are on their way now
  19. At least you have a roof with a walkable pitch! There’s a lot of super steep ones around here that I imagine people have to hire everything done (including squirrel trapping and bat exclusion by yours truly)
  20. Get the cotton Cordell 2 pack for like 3-4$ and bounce them around on bottom. They usually come loose from most snags but are cheap anyway. I found the best spot of my life with one . You know when you see awesome stuff on the depth finder all the time but never actually catch the fish. Well I saw something good, dropped the spoon, and wham nice smallie. Been camping out right there catching big fish for a couple years now, any lure works but I found them by searching quickly with the spoon. I’ve caught fish with them my whole life but that’s an instance where it helped drop quickly on several spots until I found the magic. Blade bait works the same way
  21. I love trailer on a small hair jig, they were biting this good the other day (1/8 oz). A lot of the crappie guys will put a small curly tail on a hair jig and most striper guys will put a paddle tail or fluke on a big hair jig. The bass guys use fly n rind on bluffs and they catch big time bags
  22. Whopper plopper is the only one I can think of, but I’ve only used the big one. I found a small one in the water the other day so that may change, I’ve seen them caught with the 90
  23. We had my favorite weather today but I didn’t get to fish. Dreary gray skies all day, spitting light rain here and there and about 40-45 degrees . Perfect!!! I bet the smallmouth were stuffing themselves to the gills on shad
  24. There are some big arches in TN! More to come tomorrow......
