canoeist, and kayakers. your rain gear?
Those waterproof forever chemicals are pretty nasty stuff, I usually just get soaked haha. We get 13 inches of rain more per year than Seattle , it’s inevitable I’ve had them all over the years, it’s tough to stay dry sitting down

Top Classic Baits
I think Canterbury had a top 5 with it when the classic was in Knoxville and Christie did really well with one when the elite event was here in 2021. Oh the irony Most people don’t pay attention and aren’t very sharp 😂 anybody that follows fishing knows fothergill is a machine

Whose type of fishing might be hardest for you?
Thanks @Swamp Girl! That cracked me up. Only problem is my shoes aren’t hard to fill, all ya gotta do is fish haha. Only hard parts are staying warm, enduring heat, or carrying a heavy kayak. Fishing is beyond easy, loads of fun

Lanier is south! 😆 the fishing you described is how we roll most of the time unless we are in the rapids fishing shallow. I love setting the hook 20+ feet down

Decent evening, fish were in random schools with no current just roaming around. Got some with swimbait and one with rattle trap on the Hakai, was a wild ride with the fish hooked in the mouth and belly

Fly fishing - what am I missing?
I also guided fly fishing for many years. I’m with @king fisher, it is most effective in small streams for fish that are eating bugs. I don’t participate much anymore but I can still wax them in a tiny mountain stream if I need to. I’ve got a good friend that guides smallmouth floats and he can really catch a lot of nice fish, river smallies are in tune to the drift and it can be extremely effective. Personally when it comes to bass, I’d rather jack em and fight em on conventional gear
