  1. Trailer lights are the bane of my existence
  2. Just use it more than you should and it will run great!!!
  3. Gulp minnow, Tiny tube jig, spoon, hair jig, paddle tail and jerkbait. Shakey head honorable mention
  4. The week between Christmas and New Years is my favorite week of the year for fishing. These were all caught during that week or the week before over the last few years. It also helps that I usually have that week off from work. East Tennessee is a good destination For Christmas lunkers if you bring everything from long jons to flip flops. I don’t even go down to chickamauga where people catch all the double digits
  5. Smallmouth living near trout get really big in TN. You can actually buy trout and fish with them for smallies legally, it’s quite fun and they are only $5/dozen for 4-6 inch trout
  6. Hahahaha! You should hear the locals. They carry on like it’s the arctic circle. We had over a month without a single drop of rain and the first time it rained, all anyone could talk about was “all this rain we’ve been getting.” It literally drives me crazy Can’t stop won’t stop

If you store up enough food, rodents will find it

I have to go to these peoples houses to trap rats and mice all the time. Matthew 6:19-20 is good reading on the subject
  9. i had to drive across this dam 3 times while working and eventually caved to the pressure and fished 40 minutes for a lunch break
  10. Got 3 species in 40 minutes on lunch break just now...... yee haw
  11. Smallmouth weather is coming.........
  12. If I only had a bait caster, I would throw jerkbaits and spoons
  13. From what I understand, some guy just broke the Illinois state record for smallmouth fishing off the bank of Lake Michigan
  14. Yes or if it’s extra snaggy just use the same hook but rig the bait weedless like you would a worm on a shakey head . When the water temp gets below 45 I don’t fish shallow fast water for smallies anymore but some do. That’s when I like to fish deep clear lakes
  15. I use 2.5-3 inch baits on an 1/8oz round ball jig. Use hooks you don’t mind losing
  16. We should all be fired for continuing to rely on their forecasts
  17. Small paddle tail grub slowly bounced off bottom is also good
  18. I’m sure there’s some small piece of debris or something a little loose in there. It would be far easier for me to take the reel apart and fix the clicking sound than to post that video! I do have a bait caster that makes a clacking sound when you cast and for the life of me I can’t figure it out. Other reels have been much easier but I do have one that is a mystery. Just keep digging until you find the problem unless there is some kind of warranty
  19. Holy crap that’s crowded! Reminds me of Alaska
  20. Thanks for that! You and @Glenn Look like two young pups!!!
  21. Doggone it the bait monkey got me again. These should be great for winter though
  22. Expect the unexpected and wear protective eye wear......... but seriously they aren’t that bad and I’m guessing they are easily replaced, I’ve ordered reel parts a few times and I always keep old busted reels for parts. Ironically I’ve never had to order a c clip
  23. Hits: excellent June/July river smallmouth fishing. The current was ripping but a heavy Texas rig kept putting them in the boat. I also caught probably the two biggest stripers of my life on top water so that was awesome. I almost forgot about my non game fish, captured 2 monster gar and a lot of catfish. I think I caught at least 4 fish over 40” thus far in 2019 misses: two big largemouth that blew up frogs, one might have been the most violent strike I have ever witnessed. Both jumped several times and came off right next to the boat on the last jump. I also had a monster one lazily follow a frog in clear water, that particular bass informed me that my frog was made of plastic and he was not going to eat it....... but he might just keep looking at it for a while just in case........ pics in chronological order.......... side note: hoping for many more memories to come before the end of my 2019 season
  24. It’s easier than you think! Just lay everything in order as you take it apart on something like a white towel. The only problems are things loaded with tension like springs and clamps, they go flying when you take them loose. I’ve fixed many spinning reels with a spring from an ink pen after I lost the original
