  1. I made it out to the parking lot with it and sliced it in half . Made the transaction interesting
  2. Shoot. I pulled a tick off my neck yesterday....... in Lowe’s!!
  3. The first time I got hooked deep was on my 13th birthday party with a buzzbait. My mom called a doctor friend from church who was also an avid fisherman (at midnight). Luckily he answered (landline days) and said bring him over. He takes an ice cube out of the freezer and starts rubbing it around the hook and asking me about what we were fishing for. Next thing I know he is holding the hook in his hand, no pliers or anything. He said “it can always come out the same way it went in.” Since then I have been hooked and hooked others a few times and have just pulled it back out everytime, no special tricks required. In most cases, if you can pull it out of a fish, you can pull it out of a person. The exceptions are usually when people are alone and the bait is in their dominant hand. Another exception I have seen was a friend of a friend had a hook buried in the dead center bullseye of his eyeball. I’ll spare you guys the photo of that one.
  4. I have dozens of buddies that like occupying the back of my boat or joining in a floatilla. It sure makes for some good stories/memories!
  5. Sounds good in those way too in depth articles though
  6. They aren't my favorite , haha. They give up as soon as you set the hook then go ape poo as soon as you try to get the hook out
  7. They were jumping like crazy today
  8. I like to fish with my girlfriend and all my other buddies . And sometimes our dogs. But if nobody can go with me, I’m still going
  9. Well are you interested in my wanted ad for a cameraman?? Haha
  10. Plenty enough for brakes and rotors!!!
  11. Good point @A-Jay, I think when @Dwight Hottle buys a jerkbait, the 6 lb smallmouth are already biting at it in the parking lot of bass pro before he gets it to the car
  12. I like their videos, especially LFG. I guess I'm in the minority! Haha. If I knew how to operate a computer I could provide strictly fishing content several times a week without all the silliness. Wanted: person to follow me around with camera, edit all the fish footage, then hand me all the cash......... Nah I couldn't do that! Haha Edit: ok maybe I would take half that cash........ I need brakes and rotors......
  13. I would just do whatever @A-Jay does
  14. 4x4 Dodge ram single cab manual transmission manual windows manual locks, terrible gas mileage. Like back when trucks were trucks! It pulls the boat or firewood or mulch or multiple paddle craft. For long range journeys we use my girlfriend's roller skate that gets like 35 mpg.
  15. Our initial plan was thwarted by flood water, so we went a few ridges over to another creek that was not flooded and quite picturesque. We also caught 90 fish between 3 of us, all little smallmouth and rock bass.
  16. Awesome !
  17. Got in a little dock fishing on Sunday. Got a Bluegill with the fly rod that was then circle hooked and parlayed into a smallmouth. Got a couple fish out of my buddy's pond on Monday
  18. I'm bassin on a budget everyday
  19. I think Mike Long just caught another DD on a swim bait .........
  20. The winters typically aren’t bad but they can be every once in a while. The roads around those 3 lakes are treacherous when dry, so you might get snowed in a couple times a year. I don’t know enough about RV campgrounds or campers to help you out much. Seems like there’s a lot of RVs below Douglas dam . Congrats on making it to retirement, I remember you asking about retiring in East TN on another site years back
  21. Freedom!!! Happy 4th!!! I only fished for about 30-45 minutes but I caught 2
  22. I tried to tell y'all Florida strain are several generations too smart .....
  23. Nice work. I keep it minimal also, I've never been a gear head and couldn't afford it even if I was. I use $20-$40 combos, cheap mono, plastic worms, a 4 stroke 50 horsepower, no ad sunscreen, and last but not least, completely unheard of in 2019, COTTON t shirts!!!! Oh the horror! I've still be known to fish longer than anyone and have success. salesmen hate me ........
  24. TnRiver46 replied to Derek1's topic in Fishing Reports
    That’s a beast ! Congrats
  25. Now that’s a good way to look at it!
