  1. WE weren’t expecting much this morning for a half day with tons of current and water in the high 50s. Still eating the little finesse worm, got a 19”, 18”, 17” and several 12-15” . And gar tacos for cinco de mayo!
  2. @Bluebasser86, I haven’t broken out the jig yet this year. I might be inspired enough to do it today now! @Mbirdsley, “fair weather” changes by the minute so you’ve gotta chance it sometimes. I got caught in a wild storm yesterday. I was looking directly at the boat ramp and had no clue where it was. We went to eat fried chicken for about an hour and it cleared off! My buddy came into town from Memphis so we were fishing despite the forecast. Fished about 10 out of 11 hours completely dry, most stayed at home
  3. Another triple crown day
  4. Hahahaha my cousin tells me the exact same story
  5. I see several beaver most every evening swimming around and slapping their tails. We also have muskrat, mink, otter, big ole sewer rats, swimming raccoons, you name it. Some of the scariest can be when an osprey dive bombs into the water right next to the trolling motor
  6. Its going to be on the same river two years in a row. They had the opportunity to fish some shallow fast rapids in Knoxville but everyone went downstream.
  7. This stuff. You will see it everywhere
  8. The kind I am imagining doesn't mat up. I'll find the name but it's more like grass beds instead of mats. Tall green stuff, mats of cheesey stuff is a no go with the buzz bait
  9. Pull a buzzbait through that grass first thing in the morning until at least 9 or so
  10. Yes I have several. They catch them in cold water like a blade bait or in summer schools
  11. Woops I didnt read all the replies. Thanks for the info!!!
  12. I always thought blade baits were an old school lure
  13. I’ve never in my life pegged a Texas rig. I use a shakey head at some point in my day 99% of fishing trips. I like a Texas rig (with sliding bullet weight) when the water is a faster and muddier than normal, or just when I need the bait down deep really quickly
  14. You’re always hauling in some fat green ones
  15. I’ve heard them make the noise but dad gum if I couldn’t find the rocks . Seemed to me like it’s head was one big rock
  16. Not soon enough! I think I might have seen a small male largemouth on a bed Saturday in inches of water. Then of course I Caught two nice smallies about 15-19 feet where they always are........ 10 feet is too shallow! Haha. But seriously most places near my house your boat would almost have to be touching dry land to get a 10 ft reading on the depth finder
  17. Awesome. 6 lb is becoming a regular thing for you!!
  18. Too many people and not enough water........ It still amazes me that 40 million people didn't see that one coming
  19. Bobby Garland baby shad is all you'll ever need, I hate bobbers though
  20. Southern version of toothy critters. The sauger was big enough to ride home with me
