  1. Well if either of you can make it to east TN any winter, we can give you some excellent open water fishing for however long you can stay. It won’t be sunny beaches of Florida but it’s a shorter drive and the drag (or in my case backreel) will be working. It’s cold but will feel balmy to you guys
  2. I bought 2 17.5 dredgers at the classic based on your research haha. Will report back if I ever throw them
  3. There are thunderstorms in the forecast about 75% of days in east TN. I can’t begin to describe how inaccurate the weather reports are, nobody believes it until they live here. Unless you want to stay at home all the time, we have to mix it up with the storms from time to time. We don’t have the crazy tornados like they do for the west and south but lots of lightning. If there is lightning we just get the heck out of the boat try to find the best safety, it usually ends up being a barn. There are two trips I take annually that I wouldn’t miss for anything. One is canoe camping weekend float trip down the big south fork of the Cumberland River that me and all my friends have done for over a decade. ZERO of these trips haven’t involved lightning and a storm. Then there is my camping trip in south Alabama that I have been on for 20 years straight and the family I go with has done for over 50 years. Bass pro shops even did a commercial about this trip (including yours truly haha). If there’s anyone in the world that is storm conscious it’s these guys. They grew up poor in the 30s in Alabama with nothing but what they built and grew with 11 kids. One night when they came out of the storm shelter the house was gone. Needless to say they don’t mess around with storms. Regardless we camp every year and fish HARD, no internet or cell service for so called “weather forecasts.” All this to say if I stayed home every time there was a storm forecasted I would be a vampire not a fisherman
  4. Well I was cleaning fish until almost 1 am........ good problem to have
  5. Thanks for the well wishes, it worked!!
  6. I’m counting down the minutes until 5 pm when I will be launching my boat. Sunny and 70 here........... vitamin D dosage. I would rather be floating on the water than anywhere in this ole world, my friends call me water dog
  7. Wow nice fish
  8. I could use some new work boots......
  9. I will be watching the 2020 classic! There’s still hundreds of great anglers out there in the world
  10. Maybe this spot will alleviate some of the pressure on chickamauga!
  11. Very much enjoyed the write up. Congrats on a great finish, breaking 20 lbs, and qualifying! 21 bags over 20 lbs??? That’s pretty awesome. 50 degree water seems to be a great temp for fishing on the TN river
  12. Not much use in skipping a crank although it is possible. The line usually wraps around the hooks.
  13. If it makes you feel any better the only time I have seen a bass spawning was in a pond or smallmouths in a clear shallow river. I’ve never seen it on a reservoir
  14. No I haven’t but a buddy left one on my console and it attached itself pretty well so I could see how that Would happen
  15. Exactly! Haha. I also learned that plastic worms stick to drywall and sometimes leave a mark......
  16. I spent my entire childhood walking through the house pitching and flipping jigs and spinner baits with a baitcaster. One time I was on the couch watching tv and my brother said to close his door because the tv was too loud. Instead of getting up, I grabbed the nearby combo and pitched the spinnerbait at the door knob. After about 25 tries it wrapped around the knob several times and I pulled the door shut. I could hear him mumble something like “too much free time” from behind the closed door. I may not be able to catching winning bags of fish but I can get the lure right where I want it!
  17. It doesn’t matter to me as long as they eye of the hook isn’t coated over with paint !
  18. I can’t believe our dogs haven’t attacked the tv yet
  19. You could always get Burt Reynolds to find a couple local boys at the filling station to shuttle your car........
  20. Toothy critters gotta eat too! Haha
