First trip of 2019: Got some white bass for a New Year’s Day meal and my buddy got a nice bonus largemouth. Fried the fish and onions and made a pot of pintos with bacon, trying to imitate hog jawl and black eyed peas for good luck........... didn’t have any jawl on hand.........

I should have known when the guys boat brand was “beeline” and he said he would race anyone there even though he only had a 200. He was correct, somehow his boat was faster than everyone else. Fast enough in fact to leave the water and fly through the air on a few occasions. Never again hahahahhaba

I have fished out of the back of a tournament boat one time and the most important two words to remember are “hang on.” Some people aren’t cut out for life on a fast boat and I am one of those people

What’s the lowest water temp that y’all catch fish with blades jigs? Might toss one today, it’s about 47 degree water most places around here. Maybe a lake or two will be above 50

To prevent shades from getting too dirty to begin with, I have found that avoiding hanging them below your chin on croakies is key. Then again if you are wearing costas you certainly want to use croakies or something like them to keep from losing the glasses. But I do recall when I used croakies all the food I ate and dead skin would end up on the lenses hahaha. They stay much cleaner if I keep them on top of my hat when they aren’t on my eyes
