  1. I will never be as good as I want to be. I live by a moto " Don't practice until you get it right, practice 'till you can't get it wrong, so I figure a lifetime should just about do it
  2. I am convinced that 99% of the time, and regardless of techniques, you only need Black/ blue Green pumpkin And possibly a brown mix
  3. KISS...... White (bone) Black Silver Like mentioned above, I seldom swap colors and have better luck They are hitting or they ain't.
  4. The Edge may be the best kept secret out there. Tried some last year, and I could easily go "all-in" with it.
  5. Heck, I have CB'S with 10 and 20 lb braid. Have never experienced a "digging in" problem
  6. Tatsu is the top of the food chain for me and inviszx close behind. On a side note, welcome aboard. Stop by and introduce yourself
  7. Got it..... I have 832, smackdowwn and Gamma on rigs today and am very happy.
  8. If you are happy, why change? I went 832 as it sinks better for jigs and still worked well for top water. Additionally, I can use 10 and 20 lb and have NEVER encountered digging in. You can drive yourself crazy with this crap...... Lately I have been looking at Fins, but I chalk that up to the Winter dulldrums.
  9. Swimming and water survival are 2 separate things and if you can't do both with clothes and shoes on, you should have a PFD. Having witnessed a few accidents, I tie a piece of 1 inch nylon webbing 12 inches long to the bow and Stern. Just enough to throw an arm through to catch a breath. Adding a strap to the bottom rung of a ladder also helps.....don't ask how I know this
  10. In the beginning NH licensed boaters were having problems with Maine taking the reciprocal. I believe that since the classes now mirror each other, reciprocity is no longer an issue
  11. Mike did 1/2 a dozen of mine and I am a happy camper
  12. Nothing beats the excitement of a top water hit, but a 1/2 ounce jigs is also hard to beat
  13. Sorry to hear this, lost my father in law New Years Eve......It is always tougher around the holidays.....?
  14. Wow, this thread is still going on! Almost makes my eyes bleed. Regardless of cost, it is cheaper than therapy!
  15. Love mine and the price was right!
  16. I haven't seen any 10 lb Braid that didn't work well on a spinner. Some colors last longer than others but most will fade. I use 832 for that application as it sinks better than others. If fade bothers you swap ends after 2 yrs and get 4 yrs out of it
  17. I will never tell a man how to spend his money, but if I was counciling a noob, I would say that the jig rod is where he should focus extra $$$'. The GLX is as high as I am prepared to go.
  18. No first hand experience, but the reviews are all over the place. If I was just going by what a quick search produces, I would move on......
  19. Most of my set-up are braid to leader and about 1/2 a dozen need new line. I am going to try a few Hi-Vis set up some for spinning and a few BC. I have read a lot of threads, but can't get a feel for those that did it and want back. I will likely be going 832. Thanks for any input Al
  20. Are those short shanks or x2?
  21. I was afraid we weren't going to see one before the first of the year......no disrespect to the OP I cast R Reel L Because I can only set well with my R Could never learn to set L Happy New Year
