  1. Just like everyone else has said......and Try to wipe off any coating on the braid before you tie. It is surprising how slick the braid can be
  2. Blue label is my first choice, but if I don't have the specific test, I will substitute some main line remnants
  3. For me this is jerk bait time and I would throw a shallow diver
  4. Spinning rod 10 lb 832 or Gamma 6 lb seaguar blue FC leader And it bores me to death!
  5. Free Fly makes some awesome shirts from bamboo. They feel like cotton and are super light weight and can be worn on and off the water. They are often on sale. Note buy a size bigger as they shrink
  6. Another think to remember is that Patagonia has a lifetime warranty and is easy to use. I am on their pro program and it is a great company
  7. Spawn is around Memorial Day in Central NH. Don't know where your from, but most are getting ready for Winter.
  8. Columbia is hard to beat but Patagonia has a hoodie that is awesome, but more expensive
  9. Today there was a rather big tournament on my lake so I avoided some of my better spot. I set up on some shallows in the open part of the the lake.....an area surrounded by markers. Mid morning, a highly sponsored competitor buzzed withing 50 feet of me. His son was on board and quickly shut it down and circled back. He gestured to approach and I waved him in.....He apologized and threw me a bag of hula grubs. Then said, " if your looking for numbers go to x". He said he had seen me over the summer and we exchanged pleasantries. This was clearly a situation that could have got heated, but I felt pretty good after the encounter. I seldom fish my better spots during a tournament .
  10. No doubt this is bad business all around. That said, a letter to the top goes a long way and if not, you will feel better. But.....don't let this sour the experience any more than it has already. I too am going to buy a Lund this Winter and this is all useful info....Thanks for sharing
  11. I am all 10 lb braid for CB.....832 because it sinks or Gamma because is is thinner. I soften up on the drag, as I real set and light sweep most of the time for the set
  12. Being out fished by my daughter and a wacky rig!
  13. I bet your still shaking...congrats
  14. Shield is my daily carry and I am a lefty with r eye dominant issues. Point the lolly-pop and squeeze
  15. At this point it goes without saying......jig/worm, and that is where I would spend the $$$$. After that, i do like sesativity with suspending jerk baits
  16. If you want to change your mood and increase you KARMA, take a kid fishing and give him a wacky rig on a circle hook! Reminds you why you got into the sport in the first place
  17. This Summer I caught the fish that broke off my partners fish. when I got it, like you, it had wacky rig and leader still in its mouth. ......he jumped on my WP 110
  18. While it sounds interesting, I don't see the upside. The alberto and uni/uni takes less than a minute and is proven to work great. I look forward to seeing your feedback.
  19. Shutting down the unit usually fixes it. If not, disconect the power source for a couple secs. Works every time
  20. I have been experimenting with 10 pound Gamma and 832 as it sinks, and leader on both. No more FC or Mono....at least for now
  21. Jason, for CB, I tried the fiber blend and E6X MH......for me the fiver blend was a noodle and I am very happy with the e6x.....this summer, it caught my new PB
  22. I don't have a ton of experience with a lot of other brands but have demoed quite a few and see the GLX as today's "Mitchell" of the past. The e6x gets mixed reviews but for specific techniques they do a great job.......just 1 guys opinion...
  23. The line isn't the problem. Heck, I have 10 pound on a caster and never had those issues. Early on I had similar problems and it was in my technique
