do you get Sea-Sick?
Never have but did get a little uneasy when we left the calm waters past the break walls heading out to Lake Michigan. The waters were rough at that time but my stomach got uneasy for about ten minutes. The rest of the day I was fine except for the lack of sea legs! The worst part was that night in the hotel lying in bed. I was riding those waves all over again. ? My wife she does, and I’m afraid 6poundbass will probably be. That’s pretty impressive considering you made a living riding waves.

Knights Templar/ Free masonry
I’ve been pretty intrigued by the Templars and Masons over the years. The story, secrecy, and engineering skills over centuries is just plain awesome! I agree with Dwight, go to a nearby lodge or temple and see where that leads. Keep us updated!

what is your Daily Driver?
My daily driver, I’m pretty fortunate I have a company truck which is a 2020 Colorado. Not a bad little truck. My boat puller which has had very little use this year is a ‘10 F-150 fx4.

Question about freighters
I understand ballast. My numbers were a bit off. So midsummer draft is 34.5’. From what I’ve read that’s fully loaded. So are you saying fully loaded it could release ballast decreasing the draft as it goes through St Clair?

Question about freighters
One of the freighters we recently saw go through the Soo Locks was 1000’ long and had a draft of 37.5’. I’ve been tracking it using an app I have and it just left Cleveland on it way to Deluth. It goes through Lake St Clair which I know is a shallow lake. I looked up the depth of the shipping channel of St Clair and it says it’s 27’ deep. So we have a lake with a depth of 27’ and a ship that goes through with a draft of 37.5’. What am I missing here?

Your worst fishing habit
I have several. 1: Information overload. I read and read and read, then I get overwhelmed and go back to what I’m comfortable with. 2: I stick to my few comfort baits. I did break this habit and try other baits…..but then I get comfortable with those and tend to stick with them. Vicious cycle. ? 3: Second guessing. I’ve always struggled with this, from sports to life decisions.

Post a photo a day!
So I just looked it up because I wasn’t 100% sure myself. Piebald can be all white though generally they have some brown coat like we’re use to seeing. They will have pigment on their nose, eyes, and hooves. Albino have zero pigment which gives them the pink eyes, nose, and hooves. So the picture I posted is a piebald whitetail.

I don’t think it’s an albino because he nose and eyes aren’t pink. They do have some there with the pink eyes. He is a whitetail. All they had there were whitetail. I wonder if it’s an all white piebald?

Yup, nothing but a click ***** looking to make money to stay relevant since his fish catching abilities can’t on the pro tour. Side note: I’ve never thrown a NED rig.

Got to the Soo Locks today to see this 660 footer go through. We waited forever to see a 1000 footer, gave up went shopping then ate at a restaurant next to the Soo locks and watched the 1000 footer go through. Having a good time.

Did I do right/wrong?
You did good. Giving them a handful of stuff is one thing so selling them a ton of stuff is great. 1: they got a helluva deal 2: you’re teaching them they can’t expect handouts and they probably have a sense of accomplishment because they worked hard for their money and got a ton of tackle for a rock bottom price.

Cool app I found

What Time of Day for your PB
My PB green bass came on a cold, windy, rainy mid October day. The weather was miserable but the fishing was the best I’ve experienced quality wise. The wife and I caught six or seven bass in three hours and the smallest went 2-8. My PB was 5-4 on a frog hopping it over dying pads. The bass were so aggressive, if I’d miss I could throw it back as many times as needed to catch them! Something I’ve never experienced again. My/our SMB PB came during the summer while we were bridge fishing. My son hooked it, couldn’t reel it in so he gave it to my wife. The bass was pulling so hard she got a tad excited and gave the rod to me, so I finished the job. This one came in at 3-8, not the biggest but the story and the fight it put up was pretty memorable.

Cool app I found
We’re heading to the U.P. in the morning for a little family vacation and one of our stops is going to be the SOO locks. My son has never been there and I haven’t been in probably 30 years. I did some Google searching to see if I could find some sort of schedule for when a big freighter might pass through the locks so we could time it right. My search pointed me to a site called ais.boatnernd.com which is specifically for the locks and also an app called Marine Traffic. This app is cool and for the past couple days I’ve been glued to it! It shows all the boat traffic in the world. Holy crap are there a ton of vessels on the water! You can see pictures, get size info, speed, and destination info as well. There’s a search function to look up the location of boats too including some Navy ships. Boatnerd.com gives a ton of in-depth info on the vessels that sail the Great Lakes specifically too, like there are currently 13 vessels that are 1000’ long sailing the Great Lakes. Hoping to see one of these massive boats in person. Anyways I’ve been nerding out on this app and 6poundbass got it on his phone so the apple doesn’t fall fall from the tree I guess. For you aviation folks there’s an app for that too.

The official "Who's drinking tonight?" thread
Come on over and grab some! If it’s tomorrow I’ll be headed north to the UP. While you’re taking my beer, let the dogs out, make sure they have fresh water, don’t give Hank any human food or it’ll upset his stomach and he’ll be blowing mud all over the house and you’ll be coming back to clean it up. ? If you’re nice you’ll have a drinking buddy.
