  1. Welcome to Bassresource
  2. Happy birthday Tom!
  3. Reading Mike Iaconelli’s book years ago, he did this very thing growing up. He’d take one lure for several trips and fish only that lure/presentation until he became confident in it, then move on to another. @August I’m just like you and get into ruts like this. I haven’t fished a crankbait in years because I was sick of hauling weeds every cast. This past weekend I threw a deep diver and it was my most productive presentation of the outing. Reflecting back on it I wanted to kick my own …. for shelving crankbaits for so long. This also opened up a rabbit hole of “what else am I missing out on because of my stubbornness.”
  4. I’ll cast and once the lure hits the water I’ll raise my rod above the plane of my head then engage the spool letting the lure drop straight down. This is for pitching. If I’m fishing a bit deeper I’ll do the same and pull line out then start my retrieve. I’m always watching my line for movement.
  5. Like @Woody B I’m revisiting old techniques I haven’t used in quite a few years. The last outing yesterday I threw a deep diving crankbait and had pretty good results with it and has me rethinking my boycott of crankbaits. I’m going to keep at it for a bit and see if it’s going to be a staple in my outings or will I be reminded why I gave them up so many years ago. Either way it was fun changing it up!
  6. Silver Max was complete garbage from my experience. The Black Max and Pro Max are great reels. Judging by your screen name nobody will convince you otherwise though.
  7. They are great reels for the price. I still have two in the rotation and I’ve given my son others I’ve replaced.
  8. @gimruis, have you talked to you’re neighbor about it? It might be solved with a quick knock on the door.
  9. From my understanding it’s kind of a gray area. The tree is yours but if it’s hanging onto his property he can trim it back to your property. If the branch broke from your property I’d say that’s where the gray area comes into play. If it were me, I’d cut it up, offer the firewood to your neighbor.
  10. 6poundbass and I hit the water today. Nothing big but the numbers weren’t too bad. Ten fish in three hours, seven bass, and three pike. First bass of the day choked a @Siebert Outdoors swim jig. Besotted Lures lipless crank accounted for three bass, and something I haven’t done in a long time is throw a deep diving crankbait. The Besotted Lures deep diver accounted for three bass and a pike. Vibrating jig was the other key lure of the day.
  11. I’d have to disagree. The spicy burrito I had Thursday bit back but I’d have another one. 😁
  12. Am I the only on who loves the high pitched whine of tight braid on a bass in slop?
  13. That’s what they make wing suits for! Let’s do it! 🤢
  14. That’s a big NOPE! 😂
  15. While the upfront cost of braid may be a shock to some, it’s going to last years. I have braid on some of my reels that’s four years old. To answer your question, I recommend Seaguar TactX. https://seaguar.com/products/tactx
  16. Those line bags look like a must have!

The remnants of it will be here shortly. Supposed to get 1-3” of rain by the time it’s all done.
  18. That cat doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He thinks he’s a dog.
  19. What we have here is a really dumb cat for getting into Hank’s breakfast. We also have a really good dog for not killing the really dumb cat. 😁
  20. Fancy: Reba Mcintre Joy of my life: Chris Stapleton (big Fogarty fan but Stapleton’s is better) Maria: Brooks and Dunn Six days on the road: Sawyer Brown Those are just to name a few
  21. They grow quick! 6poundbass is 14 today. He went from being 9 weeks early and 4.5lbs, to 14 5’ 10” 145lbs in the blink of an eye.
  22. I’m at a loss for words Andy. I’m sorry you two are going through this and that you can’t be with Lynn. That has to be the worst thing.
  23. That oil filter location is too easy and makes too much sense putting it there. I’ll bet that engineer was fired on the spot! 😂
