The latest sale thread
Quite the score on the zillion sv tw! I thought you could only use those ebay promo codes on new items and only certain sellers. Was that an auction style? If so where do you enter the promo code? I have been looking to try out that reel for skipping in the higher gear ratio.

Need recommendations for a senko rod
That 734 would be more of a true medium heavy to me, definitely not a heavy. I have never had a 3 power dobyns but I would guess it to be more close to a medium compared to other manufacturers.

Need recommendations for a senko rod
The Dobyns 734 is labeled as heavy action, but it is very much a medium heavy rod in my opinion. It might even have a softer tip than most medium heavy rods that I have used actually. Dobyns is about one power lower than their rating from my experience. I have had that rod in the past and it would be good for what you are going to use it for. I have a rod I would maybe let go that I like way better than the Dobyns 734. It a Megabass Orochi XX Extreme Mission Type F. It is a little stiffer tip than the 734, but I love it for senkos in cover. Only reason I would let it go is because I have two of them.

What seems to never work for you...
Crankbaits. I can probably count the number of bass I have ever caught with them on one hand. But the pike sure do love them.

Favorite Sunglasses
I have tried several higher end brands and my favorite is currently Costa. I have the amber 580g lenses and they are unbelievable.

Rod and Reel advice
Since you like Dobyns I would search eBay or the forums for a used Dobyns Champion 734. You can find them around the $150 mark. For a reel I would go with a Shimano Curado K. You can find them on eBay for about $140 new.

Best Fluorocarbon Line
Glen - In your experience how does Tatsu compare to Invisx? I used Invisx a fair amount last year and came to the conclusion that it had way to much stretch for my preference with bottom contact lures. I have always wanted to try Tatsu but didn't want to spend the money if it was similar in that way to Invisx. Thanks for any insight. My favorite FC that I have used to date is Sunline FC Sniper.

Jig rod
Get a used NRX 894, which you can find around the top of your budget. You could also go with the new Megabass Orochi XX Perfect Pitch! If they improved upon the existing version in any way they will be an even more unbelievable rod for the price.

Personal favorite reel brand

Which 12# fluro to get?
Does Tatsu have the same amount of stretch as InvisX? That is the main thing I didn't like about using Invisx for bottom contact, it seemed very similar to mono to me. I have never forked out the cash to try Tatsu yet.

What line should I use for jigs and worms
17 lb. straight fluorocarbon is my vote for jigs and worms.

BASSclary's Seaguar InvizX review.
This comment is exactly my findings and thoughts on Invisx as well.

I've decided: I'm tying on a jig, and not taking it off until I'm confident in it. Any tips?
Start off with a smaller sized jig and trailer. You will get more bites and gain confidence faster. Go on a calm day so you can watch your line easier and have a better feel for whats going on. Like others have said it is basically the exact same thing as fishing a texas rig.

Affordable frog/jig/flipping/pitching rod?
This is exactly what I would recommend as well! You can find them used for around the $125 - $150 range and it will be a great rod for what you are looking for.

What lure caught your biggest bass in 2017 ?
The bass in my profile picture came on a white strike king buzz bait this past fall. Of course it was while I was pre-fishing for a tournament. Still a blast to catch though.

Shimano 2016 Metanium MGL vs 2017 Chronarch MGL
I am curious as to why you say the JDM version of the Met MGL is better than USDM? I thought they were the exact same reel.
-
Shimano baitcaster, which do you perfer?
Go with the metanium! Its very close to the antares, but lighter.

Tinting bass boat windshields
Anyone have any idea on the cost for vinyl wrapping or hydro dipping? On a side note, I appreciate all the feedback!

Tinting bass boat windshields
Anyone ever done this or have any thoughts and recommendations? I have a black 2005 Stratos 185 Pro XL and thought it would look a lot nicer than just having plain clear windshields when everything else is black. I have also heard of people hydro dipping them, but I don't know anything about that. Any insight would be appreciated.

What is a good starting battery
I have had great luck with Interstate also thus far.

Best G loomis jig rod
I would recommend the nrx 894, especially if using 1/2 oz. jigs in any cover.

Bass Jig Tying
Is copper better than the green floral wire?

400g vs 580g costas
I have the 580g fantails in green mirror/amber lenses. They are incredible! Prior to that I had polarized Oakley's and they don't even compare. I have not tried the 400 lenses personally, but heard they are a little lighter, which could be better in some ways too. I think you may get a little better clarity out of the 580, but I don't think it is a huge difference. The plastic lenses of the 400 are a little more susceptible to scratching, which is the main reason why I went with the 580.

Frogging and Pitching rod
My recommendation is a Megabass Orochi XX Perfect Pitch. Its a 7'2" heavy fast action rod and there $100 off retail all over the place with a new version coming out.

Bass Jig Tying
I have heard people adding thread before the skirting and then wire tie. What is the benefit to doing that and is it unnecessary?
