Looking at Spring weather predictions - might be a late start this year!
Seems to be a lot of fishermen wondering if the groundhog is going to see his shadow come February. Not to worry, I'm already on it. "Is it safe?"

KAYAK SEARCH/RESCUE
I saw on one of the FB kayak groups, where they were discussing some folks placing emergency contact information on their kayaks in the event their kayaks were ever found unmanned on the water. (A lot of states do not require kayak registration.) I had these tags made awhile back and I have them attached to my PFD and on the seat of my kayak. Mine are made of a PVC composite material and were made at a local print shop. (actual numbers redacted for this photo) I've heard that the Coast Guard provides stickers for the same purpose, but I've yet to see this referenced on their web site. I hope others think about doing something similar.

45 days until I cross the Red River and invade Texas. First item on the list, plant the flag on the south bank and then advance to a favorite Texas lake.

RUST PREVENTION
Couple of months back I was going into some spare lure boxes and noticed some rust on a couple of hooks. The affected lures/box has never been out of the man cave and because I've got a lot of money tied up in tackle, a dehumidifier was moved into the room. I also ordered 4 bags of desiccant packs to add to all my boxes. The changing weather pattern over the past couple of years is presenting me with a humidity issue that I've never had to address before. I hope this stuff works.

I'm not certain, but I think I got my old vise from Cabela's, it's been 20+ years. My son came by last night and picked up the old one. There was nothing wrong with it, I just got tired of having to position my body to the vise, you couldn't adjust the height or angle of the claw. The new one comes with a bobbin arm that can be removed and I've figured out that I can use it to secure blades on chatterbaits using a string and small clip that should make tying those baits easier. You should treat yourself @Bluebasser86 and get an adjustable vise, it appears you tie enough jigs to justify dropping the coin on one.

Ordered a new vise today. My old vise couldn't be adjusted so I think I'll be in high cotton when I use this one.

Best hollow body frog?
There's a lot of good hollow bodied frogs on the market. My favorite for drawing those hawgs up from under those mats is the 1 oz Spro King Daddy.

OMORI TRICKS HIS SENKO, HOW?
I found this interesting and I'd like to try it seeing how I got a few extra blades laying around. Any ideas on how he is attaching the blade? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abg02RTa_h0 Edit: I knew it! Ok, I should have searched further. Found other videos showing how folks are doing this, seems like it has been out for awhile. Also found tackle already made for this. (Screw lock blades.) I need to get out more.

Some old tackle porn
That's a 2120 series Crazy Crawler, depending on the type hook hanger it could be 1940's. Don't fish it, display it. As far as the Meadow Mouse goes, the ones in my collection have glass eyes and date 1930's. Your mouse looks like it has tack eyes.

WALLS OF WINTER CLOSING IN AROUND ME
Yeah, I know some of you are going out today or you'll reply you fish through the winter, but these old bones can't handle it. Therefore, I torture myself with YT videos until March when MY season starts. Man, I can't wait to work a jig along the banks of my honey holes!
