I am in the process of replacing the transom on my 14' aluminum boat. I removed the old and rotten one. There was only a board on the inside. I am thinking of putting one on the outside and inside. Will only be using a trolling motor, but maybe an outboard someday. I have scrap composite decking lying around. I am going to try and use that on the inside. If I can't get it to work, ill seal wood. I am definitely going to use composite decking on the outside, unless it will cause corrosion. How does this sound?

looking to redo my casting deck on a 14' V-Hull. I am thinking of riveting steel angles to the sides of my aluminum boat. then, i would run 2x4s across the width of the boat, supported by a 4x4 in the middle running up/down. Will steel react with aluminum? will this work? thanks!

I have the wild river nomad tackle bag. had it for over a year. only issue is the broken upper, but it came with two. I cam fit 4 3600 pro latch plants in the big bottom section, and one in the top area. Apparently you can store five 3500s in the top. Is this true?

I have an old sea king hull that is 14' long. the old deck is falling apart so i took everything out. the back inside of the boat has a layer of chipping paint. it may be lead paint. the front has paint in good condition. I bought cabbalas boat liner to put inside my boat. my problem is that i can't sand the boat without ruining my sand pads. the rivets catch on the pads every time i run the orbital sander over them. what should i do?

Just got my light gray Tuff Coat Liner from Cabala's. I ordered 2 gallons of the liner and a quart of primer. Will be doing the bottom half of the inside of my 14' vhull - How many coats of primer? - How many coats of liner? - what grit sand paper for the paint removal? - How long between coats? - Must I work fast? - Anything else?

I currently have a 7'0" XH Carrot Stix Wild Wild Black as my frog rod. It is rated for 1/2 - 2 oz lures. Is it too heavy a power for frogs and 50 lb braid?

Looking to add a new reel to my arsenal. I like the Orra Winch. Looks good. What line should i use? Mostly for cranks down to 12'. Would invisx 12 lb work? I also have 10 lb mono on a zillion with the 7'1" m mod that it will go on, but the gear ratio is too fast.

I would like to thank Apple for enabling me to be able to learn so much about fishing. In 2016, I purchased a MacBook Pro. I was hesitant to spend the money, but knew that it wold help me with my schoolwork greatly. I never knew how helpful it would be in the fishing world. Because of my computer, I have access to great resources like this forum, allowing me o learn so much. Besides basic help, I am mostly self taught. I ask questions here, try it out, adapt, and find what works. Without Apple, I would not be nearly as good an angler as I am today. Never expected a computer to be the one thing that helped me develop as an angler. Thanks Apple!

This summer I will be staying on the water in Lake Hortonia, down the road from Bomoseen and Champlain. I will be there the last week of July. I will have access to a boat. What techniques will work in these waters? What will the fish be doing Any advice is awesome!!
