  1. What does it do in depth? Is it necessary? Only in rivers or in lakes too?
  2. Thats exactly what happened, the fish was gut hooked, so someone released it, and i caught their line.
  3. I have a question relating to whether or not a fish was caught in a tournament approved way. Or if it was even caught at all. Many trout swallow tiny hooks when they are caught. Most keep the true for the reason. most people use leaders as well. I caught a few trout today that had leaders in their mouths. Would it be considered a legal catch in a tournament if i hooked the other persons leader but not the fish?
  4. Same problem here as well. Most of my lakes were completely flooded. Without a boat it was impossible. I had to stop targeting bass and go for trout. Caught 6 biggest was about 3-4 lbs
  5. 53* is your magic number in the spring
  6. No, we need those genes...
  7. Does having the line to line knot in the actual reel affect casting distance?

  9. I have spent 8 hours prepping for this weekend. Its one of the few times a year I get to go to my lake in MA that has fish every other cast all day long! I am so excited. Fishing sat-tues all day
  10. reminder, this is a casting reel
  11. Will be fishing a lake with 25' of visibility this weekend. I will be drop shotting with a spinning setup. I will also be fishing Strike King Tour grade Swim Jigs 1/4 oz around docks and wacky rigs and jerk baits. I have a Daiwa Zillion TWS 7.3:1. It has 10 lb mono currently. I am considering putting 8 lb seaguar invisx just for the weekend. swim jigs, wacky senko, and jerk baits only. should i?
  12. It's actually my Aunt's Kayak. I am considering getting one in the future, but haven't got the money to do so.
  13. 12' jon boat no less semi v reccomended with a trailer and casting deck 12' jb reccomended if you drag it to launch
  14. This weekend I will be fishing out of a kayak. It is not made specifically for fishing. I believe it is blue. The lake i am fishing is gin clear (25') There are laydowns and docks. I will fish these from a kayak. My technique on the docks is a swim jig and wacky rig. My Technique for the lay downs will be a texas rig, flipping jig or senko. I am looking for tips about boat control, casting, hook sets and stuff like that. I feel like it will be hard to pitch from a kayak. I can bring an anchor if i need to.
  15. Thats what we were doing. Only bproblem was he casted across my line in the small section of water i was fishing.
  16. What baits would you throw in clear water this time of year?
  17. I couldn't agree more. Jerkbaits work awesome, just haven't tried them at this lake yet. I have seen the bass in there hit frogs in the middle of november.
  18. I will be fishing my favorite place on earth this weekend. Conditions are looking perfect. The lake is 60 acres, mostly developed shoreline, except one side. on that side there are several pine trees in the water. The lay downs are picture perfect. To make it even better, it is all rock and sand, with a little bit of hydrilla in the sandy areas. There are several docks. there are drop offs humps and points. The water is 25' visibility. I watch fish eat my drop shot every cast in 20' of water. Have had 3 consecutive days where i catch fish every other cast all day long. I know i will catch fish if i stick to a drop shot in 20'. Im going to try some new stuff this time though. I have experience with jerk baits, and want to put them to the test up north. I will be using a suspending clear purple lucky craft pointer. I have other jerk baits that i will try. What I am most excited about are the laydowns and docks. I consider myself an advanced dock fisherman. I will use swim jigs and wacky rigs. I want to try flipping the wood. I went diving there in the summer and saw a legit 15 fish per lay down. I am not sure what to flip with. I will likely be in a kayak. Hook sets will be hard. I have a 7' XH, and two 7'3" MH casting rods. Reels with 15 lb flouro, 30 lb braid, 50 lb braid, and 30 lb mono. What line should i go with, the 7' is micro guide but the 73 aren't. What rod? Also what baits will work best? any other tips?

  21. What should I be throwing this time of year in a 60 acre lake with 20' visibility and rock and sand bottom, lay downs, and little bit of hydrilla? I stick to drop shot and do well. thinking about a jerkbait and maybe some swim jigs
  22. I would like someone to fish with this weekend (sat - tues). I am visiting family in Marlborough and Leominster/Lunenburg. Would any of you be willing to show me around? I have my license, own gear, and spots too. Thanks
