MA "Guide" Wanted
I will be visiting family this weekend (Sat - Tues). I will be staying in Marlborough, but spending time in Leominster/Lunenberg too. I can't bring a boat on this trip. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to fish with me. I have done research on spots, but am open to suggestions as well. I have an MA license too. Open to bank fishing, boating, or kayaking. I will fish any water body that is safe and legal. Thanks!

Stolen Fish: Poor Etiquette
Haha, he was bragging that he caught a fish, but I ended the day with a 2.5 and 1.5, he had a .25 and a .5 I realize this time it wasn't a big deal, but the one time with that 7 pounder, it made me mad. I was even more frustrated because i lost an 8.5 the day before because he neglected to listen to my instruction of grabbing the net from the golf cart, the next day he caught a 7 only because i was there and i had brought the net.

Stolen Fish: Poor Etiquette
I am totally for working together and catching lots of bass. After all, they say two minds are greater than one. I never complain if he catches fish where was not fishing or getting bites. That is how we cover more water. Its a totally different story when he comes right next to me and takes my fish. I totally agree to this in a tournament situation.

Stolen Fish: Poor Etiquette
I was pond fishing yesterday with a friend. The pond was a bout 1 acre, with an inflow and outflow. I figured out that fish were stacked up by the inflow, which brought warm water into the pond. I forgot my weights at home, and wanted to fish a keitech, so i used an old jig head that had a small gap hook. I was having trouble hooking up, but not at getting bites. My friend noticed my bites and came right next to me and caught the same fish I was trying to catch. It didn't really matter, because it was a small fish, but it still made me kind of mad. The real problem was last year when the same thing happened, only it was with a 7 pound bass, not a 7 ounce one. I never try to cast near others when they get bit, they earned the bite, and deserve the fish. I consider this poor etiquette, stealing people's fish, but do you?

Rustoleum Bed Liner
I agree, but the boat would have a deck over it...not sure if it would still be hot, also there may be other colors like a light gray that may be better.

Trolling Motor?
I have a 14' vhull. It has a 55lb Minn Kota Powerdrive in the front. In the back, it has a 55lb Minn Kota Endura Max. I want to extend the reach of the battery cable on the Powerdrive so that the battery will go in the back of the boat. How can I do this? Id prefer to buy something so I don't have to mess with electrical stuff. Will this product work good:http://marine.bassdistributing.com/promariner-15-battery-bank-cable-extender-mite-sport-torn-51070?gclid=Cj0KEQjwwoLHBRDD0beVheu3lt0BEiQAvU4CKst9snC7SG_MPk4mdahPBfSnWQ0YpJCWmnlPpHPiv28aAoaI8P8HAQ

7' Medium/Heavy Rod $125 Budget
I have 100$ in Cabala's Gift cards. Looking to get a new rod. It would mainly throw smaller swim jigs, plastics, fast jerk baits, and stuff like that. I already have a 7'3" MH and a 7'1" MMod. Should I go with a 7' M Fast, or a 7' MH F? Also, I have a O M N and like it, but I really like the ALX IKOS. Haven't handled the ikon, but i have the O M N. I am between those two and a Mojo. thanks

Live bait and trolling (rod position)
Lol, its a private lake in NEPA, its like 50 acres and half of it is 1' deep after some guy blew a hole in the dam dam. Its funny watching 50 year old men using live bait in a huge bass boat in a pond with only a tm, and here are two kids in a small jb with lures.

Live bait and trolling (rod position)
I have recently done lots of trolling for pike and bass. Was wondering if the rod help vertically or horizontally, in regards to the water makes a difference. Also, a tourney on my lake allows live bait. If it didn't, we would win every time, because my friend and i are the only ones that use lures. We maximize our potential by throwing lures on two of our rods, and live bait on the others. what rig works best for having them set the hook by themselves initially? also rod vertical or horizontal? thanks

Stocked Trout
Cant wait for the first day of the trout season in a few days. I was shown a type of rig at bass pro that i used when live bait fishing. Basically, it was a mainline with a .125 oz bullet weight, a swivel, a leader and a hook. kinda like a carolina rig. my thought ws to use a bobber and fish powerboat near the top of the water column in the cool morning and take the bobber of and fish the bottom later on. what do you think? also, in my state you are allowed three rods ou at once, so two will have this rig, and one will have a lure did on.

Everyone's PB
My PB story is quite the interesting one. Here is some background. My friend and I were 15, we had a 12' jon boat and lil tm on a 100 acre lake. The lake had no hp limit, so jet skis were a wizzn by. I told my friend to grab the net from the golf cart before we headed off. He "misunderstood" me and thought i said to leave it. I did not notice. We pulled up to two docks and began to fish. I decided to get off on a random dock and fish the other one. My friend jokingly left me. I made a cast and hung up on the boat at the other dock's motor. I started to walk around to unfree the wacky senko. then it started moving. It was an 8+ lb bass easy. I yelled for him to come back and that i had a fish. He did not hear or believe me. once the fish jumped, he believed me and hurried back. I handed him the ml power spinning rod and 8lb line, after not fighting the fish long enough, i reached down to lip her. That was my fatal move. the fish had plenty of energy left, and when i went to lift out of the water, she broke free. I consider it a catch because the fish was out of the water in my control for a split second. The line snapped and she barely escaped as i jumped in for her. This was in the late spring after the spawn. The next day, my friend caught the male, a 6-7 lb bass.

Truck Bed Liner?
I am in the beginning process of repairing my 14' hull. It came with a mid-level casting deck. By that I mean it sits in the middle of the hull. It works great when fishing, as the center of gravity is low and it is more stable. I have noticed two problems. One, the wood wasn't sealed and is rotting slowly. The same is true for the transom. Second, there is a lack of storage on the boat. The mid-level deck only allows for the storage of a bow mount battery and anchor. The boat works fine for now. It would be nice to have the upgrades, but it can wait. I do need to weld the cracked top part of the transom, which is not currently an issue, but may become one later on. I want to seal the boat to prevent leaks. I used jb weld to stop most of it. I want a definite fix. I understand that it will be hard to remove truck bed liner. It will also add weight. The liner will be mostly underneath a casting deck, so it won't attract heat so much. i would still like to use white liner, to prevent excess heat. I plan on lining up to the lip of the boat. Any other tips?

Bass Boat Conversion
I recently purchased a 1968 Sea King 14' V-Hull. It came with a roller-style trailer and 12" tires. The existing casting deck was not sealed and was rotting. It was also pretty low, minimizing the amount of storage I had. It will be used a "reservoir rig". That means it will be for small, electric-only lakes. I have a brand new Minn Kota Endura Max 55 and a Minn Kota Powerdrive V2 55. I have a size 29 Everstart MAX for the bow mount and a 27 for the transom. I want to redo the casting deck and repair the trailer so that it will last a long time. Trailer Repair: I need to replace a few of the rollers and one of the brackets that attaches the roller to the trailer. I may have to replace the winch and jack down the road, but for now, they will do just fine. I also want to seal the trailer and get rid of existing rust. Lastly, one of the plastic caps around the bearings of the trailer is missing. That won't be expensive, but I have to find the right one. Where can I buy new rollers? How can I make the rollers spin smoothly? Where can I buy a new bracket? Where can I buy the missing bearing cap? How can I remove existing rust? What is the best way to prevent future rust? Boat Repair/Prep: There are two bench seats in the boat. One is in the back and one is in the front. If I want to make hatches, which I do, I will need to remove them. That process will be difficult, but I will be able to do it without damaging the hull. Now that I have the hull completely stripped down, I want to seal the loose rivets. I have access to a welder and my friend knows how to rivet. I may want to coat the inside of the hull in a product that will keep leaks out and make it look nicer. I am thinking of truck bed liner. I also need to replace the transom. I is in bad shape, but there are several stripped screws, which is gonna make it really hard. I also need to weld the transom because it is cracked. Next, I need to begin the framing of the deck. Framing: I have spent a lot of time researching what I want to do with the deck. I found one way that is particularly appealing. They happen to have the exact same boat too. They even made Youtube videos of the whole thing too! Here are the videos: Tour: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mm0VrSjjlkM&t=71s Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_4258526983&feature=iv&src_vid=mm0VrSjjlkM&v=vZ_4u6s637g Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8557c6AjL78 Part 3:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8557c6AjL78 I like how simple the build is. It would not be impossible for me to do something like that. I also have some ideas that I would like to add after the build. I would start the framing process by using 4 section of 2x4's horizontally in the front. There will be 2 2x4's stacked on top of each other. Lastly, there will be 2 4x4's underneath as support. then i add the wood and seal/carpet it. Questions: Where can I buy new rollers? How can I make the rollers spin smoothly? Where can I buy a new bracket? Where can I buy the missing bearing cap? How can I remove existing rust? What is the best way to prevent future rust? Does this support system seem good? do i convert the boat on the trailer or on the ground? What do you think of their conversion anything else.
