  1. Aren't they manipulating the number 2009? 2009 isn't a single digit number. 9-9-9 isn't 9-9-2009. Does that make any sense or should I stay out of this conversation?
  2. I grew up fishing the St. Johns river and have waded it a hundred times. Only 3 instances come to mind when I got nervous. 1. I was about 10-11 years old when my dad started to take me wading. I wouldn't let him get more than a foot away from me, which made it hard for him to use the flyrod. He finally told me "stand here and don't move until I tell you to" I cemented my feet onto the eel grass and watched as he strolled about 10-15 feet away from me. He said " Now, follow me and don't get any closer than you are now. I almost :'( That 10-15 feet seemed like a hundred yards. 2. Wading the river with a stringer of bass tied to the belt loop. We see a rather large gator about 75 yards away, just following us. He started to come closer so we unhooked the stringer and let the gator have a free meal. 3. Wading the river on a full moon. I only did it once and have no intentions of ever doing it again.
  3. 38 34 No parties in Tally tonight. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  4. It does every year. Why aren't you at the game? I was hoping to see you on the toob waving a big CANE sign.
  5. Agreed. You're just looking for trouble by hanging with someone named "Tila Tequila."
  6. The canes all the way. No self respecting Florida boy likes the whining, cry baby semanholes. But like quitlimpn said, too bad they aren't playing for 1st place.
  7. Haha, I think it's the other way around. You have to come past my place to get to the lake. Besides, don't you have a class to teach? ;D ;D ;D
  8. The wife just came home from grocery shopping and bought me 4 containers of Blue Bell. 2 vanilla, chocolate and rocky road.
  9. Bassn Blvd replied to burleytog's topic in Everything Else
    I didn't feel a thing ;D ;D
  10. How do you make it last for a couple of hours? ;D Wishful thinking? Imagination? Little blue M&M looking candies?
  11. I carry a Glock (make that 2 Glocks) EVERY single day along with a S&W .38 5 shot. I carry the Glock 40 cal model 22. Glocks are darn near indestructible and very easy to break down and clean. They are very reliable and can be bought for under $500. There are other nicer guns out there but for banging around, exposing it to the weather and what not then it's hard to beat the Glock. For home security though I would recommend a shotgun. It's hard to miss your target (intruder) with a shotgun when your woken in the middle of the night and your crappin your pants while your belongings are being rummaged through.
  12. LOL, she's annoying every time she opens her mouth but I think I could overlook that for a couple hours.
  13. Angel's Trumpet. ALL parts of the plant are Extremely Poisonus. Many people use it for it's "hi" but most aren't around to talk about it. They're dead.
  14. I don't know if this is a rerun but Kelly Pickler is on right now. She looks incredibly edible and her legs are just plain awesome.
  15. I anticipate being on lake "O" at least 3-4 days a week all of December and Jan.
  16. Look at Phoenix rods also.
  17. The warranty G-Loomis provides isn't the only reason why I buy their product. From what I read, and that may have changed or I could be wrong, Megabass, Evergreen, etc do not offer ANY warranty. I don't expect them to provide the same warranty as G-Loomis but at least cover defects and workmanship. If I order Evergreen and it arrives with a broken guide or splintered blank, will it be covered under a manufacturers warranty for full replacement at no charge to me? Will the rod be covered if I discover the defect a month or two later? If not, then screw'em. I'm not buying a product who's company doesn't back their product. If they will cover it then I will buy one or two. I don't make enough money to afford $1000 dollar rods with no warranty against defects. If I made half a mill a year then I would gamble and buy one.
  18. It's about time you showed your mug. I started to think you gave up fishing for quilt making . And as always, nice fish... Doug.
  19. Why am I in Florida
  20. Same goes for me too. RedLineRobert is the only one I know who uses JDM rods on this site.
  21. X2. You miss one and move on.
  22. All tackle will be outdated by year 2025 and we'll have to resort to bow and arrow in order to catch fish. Scientist have found that bass can communicate with one another via flapping their gills. Some bass have even learned to send radio type waves from Florida all the way to California to communicate. Actually, I suggest you get more practice using everything you mentioned because they all work just fine.
  23. I would be very content with the following. Chrome rattle trap Black over gold or silver Rapala minnow. 7.5" Culprit worm Zaraspook 1/2 - 3/4 ounce black/blue jig.
  24. Here's what I and about 90% of the people on Lake Okeechobee use. 10-12' crappie pole, #8 mono, Aberdeen hook, small split shot about 8 inches above the hook, cork and Missouri minnows. Roadrunner jigs work exceptionally well also.
  25. .... And make sure you go to English class while he's in math class. It's Monday, not monday.
