Yum Warning Shot
Totally excellent drop shot bait. I also catch tons of fish on them with 2/0 belly weighted ewg hook. I’ve also neko rigged them with a wacky O ring. The ribs hold the ring on n and it will last for many fish. The Yum Kill Shot is also excellent.

I need heavy rod recommendarions..
I have 704c and have never handled a 734c. I imagine that are the same except for the length. I would also recommend the Daiwa Tatula 7’1” the others are recommending.

I need heavy rod recommendarions..
If you know the 703c and feel like one power up will be enough power, the 734c is a great rod. I use my 735c for glide baits and occasionally for frogs. However I like a shorter frog rod, so I use a Fury 664c most of the time and dig it.

I need heavy rod recommendarions..
Dobyns Fury 735c is a meaty stick, if you don't want such a heavy duty rod you could go with a Fury 704c. I'm not sure how heavy the cover you will be fishing is, but either of these should fit the bill depending on the cover you are fishing.

Ultralight Fishing question.
You will be able to use a ML rod but it wouldn't be as effective as an UL rod. If you want to use UL lures you would be best to use an UL rod. Casting distance and accuracy, fighting fish, and sensitivity will all be optimized by using and UL setup.

Texas Rig : With or Without bead ?
You people who use beads have an opinion on plastic beads. I have a bag and might give them a try. Is glass the better sound?

Hatin' on smallmouth
I’ve also heard of walleye fishers killing muskies they catch while Walleye fishing. Terrible.

Hookset troubles with a medium action?!
That rod isn't the issue. Make sure you have all your tackle matched/balanced, line , hook size and style, plastic bait size. Those rods are rated 10-17lb line 1/4-5/8oz lures, and have plenty of backbone for what type of fishing you're wanting to do.

Best small and light baitcaster?
Lew's Tournament Pro is the Lew's reel you describe. I have three of the Pro G (model before) and they are fantastic.

FC leader to braid for shakey head and TR advice
This is the exact line combination I use on all my bait casting setups. I always tie an FG knot, and it is small enough to go through the micro guides on my St Croix LTB rod with no issues. I use either 12 or 15lb Red Label for leaders. It's a very versatile line combination, I use it for Jigs, T rigs, swim jigs, square bills, spinner baits, weightless stick worms. I will switch to mono, or leave off the leader if I'm fishing top water baits. I always tie my connection knot, so the knot won't go into the reel in casting position.

Anyone have a great combo that just hurts your hands?
The Daiwa Tatula cork spinning rod handles are super comfortable. No matter how you hold it, all finger above the reel, three, two above the reel it's very comfortable. They are fantastic rods too. The medium 6'6" in particular is great.

Favorite fluorocarbon and braided line?

New Rage bait prices on TW?
I don't see it in regards to baits like Yum, Zoom, Big Bite Baits, Net Baits, Z-Man, War Eagle, Santone. Their prices are great. Which stuff do you feel is priced higher than should be?

Using my 6’ casting rod again
I agree. The 723c is great little rod.

Using my 6’ casting rod again
Years ago when I only fished out of a canoe with a partner up front I only used 6’ rods to prevent cramping the boat. when I changed boats ? I bought all 6’6” up to 7’ rods. At the beginning of this season I broke out my old Loomis IMX 723c. i forgot how accurate casting this rod is. It’s so light I can barely feel it too. I’ve been casting under trees and perfectly between logs and catching lots of fish because of it. Anyone else fishing short rods?

Show off your Stuff
I'm kind of a traditionalist, but threw in a St Croix LTB a few years ago, with its stubby little fore grip. Look at all those beautiful long G Loomis fore grips! G Loomis has the finest tapers, glad to see the MBR taper is being offered in more styles again.

Bass Pro Shops sells 11 Cabela’s stores
The Cabela's in Illinois was always great for fishing gear. Racks and racks of it. When BPS bought it, lots of the great Cabela's rods and reels, and tackle started disappearing. Most of it discontinued. Whenever I talk to employees there they seem as friendly as ever, but if I ask them about what's happening with the gear they all say the same thing. BPS doesn't tell them anything about what gear is changing, or being discontinued until it's gone.

E6X Reviews
Bringing this back for an update. The version 2 E6x rods are fantastic. Newer smaller lighter guides, better balanced, and lighter overall. the MBR in the series are killer.

Looking for a short frog rod for medium to heavy cover
I’ve been using my Dobyns Fury 664 with great success. But no fish over 5lbs in medium cover. Not sure how big of fish you’re talking about or how heavy the cover is for you. I like a shorter frog rod too. It great for casting and working frogs.

Bass attractants... something to invest in?
I use Mega strike on all jigs and soft baits. I have had many instances where I cast in the same area without a bite, then reapply Mega strike and get a hit the next cast. It's happened enough times over the years to have faith in it working. Also it's produced really well on TRD ned rigs.

Tatula Rod
That's a killer rod! Great price too.

Using Braid on my baitcaster
As others have said, be mindful of small over-runs. Slight loops with braid can cause your issue. Also what others have said about the line digging in from snagging and pulling hard to get it out. I use 30 PP braid on 5 different setups and it happened when I first started using it but happen very rarely now that I do these two things. I also use line conditioner after the line gets really broken in, and limp too. It helps.

G Loomis GLX 894c JWR
Why did you feel that these two 3 power rods are better for different weight ranges? "Generally for the NRX rods the 893 is for 1/4 to just under a 1/2 oz. The 873 is for 3/8 to 5/8"

New Hula Popper 2.0
Original has caught me tons of fish over the years. I see no reason why this new version wouldn't catch them. The rear hook looks kind of small in the photos, might just be a weird angle in the photo.
