Hook Size/Rigging for 4.8 Deps Bull Flat
Have a package not opened yet. Original idea was a free rig. I like that football head idea. Seems like that would work AMAZING!

How does one utilize jerkbaits of this type?
One of my favorite ways to fish.

Dingy water
Very small man made lake, I’m talking roughly 25 acres. Normally has pretty good visibility. Changed dramatically in a few days. Much darker and way more weeds on the surface. Wife was like “This water stinks and is disgusting” lol. I normally don’t fish it over the weekends because a lot of campers are nearby and they are all banging around in kayaks and making tons of noise.

Are you talking contrast between jig and trailer?

Rapala The Mayor replacement
Well, last night I found a soft bait that I will NEVER use again as a trailer. And that is the Megabass Spark Shad. Nope, never again. It caught fish, but the durability. Well, there's NO durability. At least I paid "Japan price" for them.

Great piece of kayak gear. Donkey Leash.
I had something similar last night which is how I started this search. I was out fishing and it got dark. My wife decided she was done and headed to the truck. Of course, 15 minutes after she left I caught a really nice bass and wanted her to take some pics/video. I called her and asked her to drive over and meet me at the beach. While paddling to said beach, I was trying to keep her in the water in the net the majority of the time. That wasn't the easiest so I'd put her in the kayak for a bit and paddle faster. Then put her back in the water. Back and forth, back and forth. It all worked out. I got some pics and she swam off good. Just has to be a better way.

Dingy water
Went out last night and was caught off guard due to the change in water clarity. It looked like a completely different lake from just Friday night. Water was much darker and a whole bunch of more weeds on the surface. Hard to imagine it changing this much in just a matter of a few days. Long story short, I didn't have the lures or colors I probably wanted and it got me thinking. Many times when you read about lower visibility, you hear the colors black/blue and chartreuse mentioned. But to me, those colors are the complete opposite of each other. In my pea sized brain it doesn't make sense. So, the million dollar question, does it matter much? Does one work better than the other? If so, when? What do YOU use? THANKS!

Anyone else having trouble finding the fish?
I don't know about you but the small lake I fish the most changed drastically from Friday to last night. Water clarity went way down and weeds all over the surface.

Thanks for the info. Now, the most important question. Has a fish ever gotten off in the water?

This is an old post but it saves me from creating a new one. Anyone have this? Or anything similar? Recommend?

Did you catch your PB during the prespawn?

That’s a darn nice looking hat. I always have a baseball style hat on but should probably where something similar to yours. I’m going to check them out.- In Praise of Dinks
I keep telling my wife this!!!!!!!!- Will it survive?
I have a gut feeling it's still in her mouth and will survive. One hell of a story if I get my hands on her again.- In Praise of Dinks
Just ONE dink turns a skunked outing into a non-skunked outing.- The latest sale thread
I'm a PRO member and probably will be every year unless something drastically changes. I'm pretty sure I understand your question so I'll try to help. EVERYBODY gets the 20% off. Doesn't matter if you have a membership or not. So a $10 purchase is going to cost you $8.00. Saves you $2.00. The 10% for PRO members goes towards in store credit for future purchases. So a $10 purchase you get $1.00 of credit. Sometimes they will offer 20% credit on store wide merchandise. What's great is the FREE SHIPPING. Lost your favorite jig? Order it. No need to try and come up with $50 of stuff to get free shipping. I'm a big fan.- Just ordered the Perception Outlaw 11.5
Yep, the "joys" of kayak fishing. I've thought about bringing a ping pong paddle with me. I think it would work great for little maneuvers.- School me on Chatterbaits.
Last fall I bought 6 or so jackhammers and some Zakos to match. As of today they are all still in their original packages. I've said it a million times, there's just so many ways to fish now it's impossible to fish them all. Crazy "sport" this has become.- Crankbait rods
Oh ok, I thought maybe you tried making the tour or something. My boy plays D1 college right now. I quit playing and just fish now. No regrets!!!!!- Crankbait rods
Yeah I fished that area and lost a brand new crankbait within 5 minutes. I was on the shore (jetty) so getting it out wasn't on the menu. BTW, were you a golfer?- Crankbait rods
Good question, thanks for asking. Very little wood in the lakes I fish, mainly 3 close ones. The lake I really want to get more familiar with has a ton of rock in it. They did a multi million dollar project on it. Tons of riprap added, etc. Last year I watched a guy bang crankbaits off of rocks and caught a 4 lber. He was maybe in 8 feet of water, not sure. This lake is also by far the deepest and clearest. There's a lot of 20+ feet of water. My main smaller lake has a bunch of grass and I rip swim jigs all the time in it. Works great. Max depth is only like 15 feet. The other lake maxes out around 20 and there's not much of it. The majority of the deep water is roughly 14 ft.- One Lure Challenge
LOL, same! Went out Friday and took 7 rods with me. Caught fish on 6 of them. It would be a FUN "challenge" though.- Will it survive?
Oh dang that would be frustrating! Try a swim jig. You obviously hook A LOT then because I've seen all your pictures!- Did you catch your PB during the prespawn?
I'm working 14 hour days, sometimes more during the prespawn. Gosh I can't wait to retire. - Fishing gloves?
