Confident Baits
My “confidence” bait might change every year. This year? 100% a swim jig. I would have to think a few minutes to come up with 2nd place.

Why are so many giant bass caught in winter?
Fall feed in preparation for winter would be my guess.

Fishing camera
In case anyone is wondering, iPhones do NOT float. Don't ask me how I know.

Megabass I-Wing 135
I’ve never seen that before so I looked it up. Dang near looks like a bird struggling in the water. Crazy lure.

What brand and strength fluoro do you use for a leader on your finesse/Ned rig setup?
8 lb from an old spool of Red Label. But I really have no idea what the hell I’m doing most of the time. So take that into account.

Question about Neko and FFS
That's what I was wondering. Would they have more of a difficult time finding it? As opposed to it being on a hard/clean bottom?

Back to wacky
Can't say I've ever been skunked on a Wacky or a Ned. 100% fact.

rigged up for one lake - headed to another. :(
I have 3 pretty local lakes around me. Roughly 10, 20, and 30 minutes away. None are big though. Biggest is probably 400 acres. But yeah, they are all different.

Harder to find
Well, he did say they were hard to find.

Question about Neko and FFS
Any idea what the bottom composition is like? Change colors? First two things that popped in my non-expert head.

Hey Y'all
- Is it necessary to get a 3K-4K sized reel for larger pike (40”+?)
My 3 biggest pike have all been caught on cheap medium powered spinning combos with most likely 8 lb test. First combo was bought at KMart. Second I bought from a pawn shop. Third was Wal-Mart or Theisen's (small home/farm/auto store). Crazy how times have changed. Now I think I need $500+ rods for every different type of lure/presentation.- How much has electronics changed your fishing?
I guess for me, I was thinking it could help me a few ways. First, it's going to help me see the depth. Second, it's going to help me find structure. And third, it can help me see how deep the fish are. For instance, if I'm fishing an outside weed line in 12 feet of water. Are they sitting in 11 ft or 6ft, etc. I guess if you have mapping, it can easily get you back to the structure you found earlier. I guess I need to figure out how much more I'll be in my kayak. I don't want to spend a bunch of money if it wouldn't transfer over to a boat very well.- How much has electronics changed your fishing?
Care to share why you think this? I wasn't expecting this answer.- How much has electronics changed your fishing?
Well, just like the title states, how much has electronics changed your fishing? I'm currently fishing out of a kayak, without any electronics. Long story short, the wife isn't looking to buy a boat this year. She did however mention getting some electronics to put on the kayak now that could maybe transfer over to a boat. I'm just wondering how much electronics would change my fishing? I'm sure in the long run it would help tremendously. I'm also thinking it could hinder it in the short term. I have a feeling I would be too focused on looking at the screen and just learning how to run the dang thing. Anyways, in your own experience, how did adding electronics change your fishing? Thanks!- Daytime bright sky fishing
I knew this was going to be the case. I just need to HEAR it to change my thinking.- Latest Catch Pics Thread
Oh heck nah. I don't mind the heat, it's the HUMIDITY.- Latest Catch Pics Thread
Boy you are braver than me. It was 72 degrees this morning and the dew point was 72. I need to suck it up and get out there I guess.- SpinCast Reels Beginner Advice
I have three kids that I introduced fishing to. The only spincast combo I ever purchased was a Scooby Doo one for my daughter who was maybe 3. My boys first poles they ever touched were spinning combos. It doesn't take much to get used to. IDK, just me.- i'm going to develops a buzzbait game!
OK y'all have convinced me to give it another try. Do you put like a soft plastic trailer on it to keep it up easier? Oh sorry, I should just read the posts above. LOL- Daytime bright sky fishing
In my small fishing mind, I've convinced myself it's a waste of time to go fishing in the bright sky during the day. But I know people are out there catching fish. I'm pretty much only an early morning or late afternoon/early evening fisherman. The problem with this thinking is that I'm missing out on time on the water. You can't catch fish sitting at home. I'm assuming you are either looking for shade or deeper water. The problem is that I don't have any electronics so finding fish in deeper water has always been difficult for me. You can still catch fish right? LOL You guys fish much during the day with a bright sky? Help me get my head on straighter. THANKS!- i'm going to develops a buzzbait game!
I think I've caught one bass off of a buzzbait. To be fair, it's because I rarely use them. The one I was using it seemed like I had to reel it 20 mph to keep it from sinking. Even had braid on it. I'm sure it's a ME issue. I need to try it again maybe at night.- Braid to fluoro with knot preferences
Yeah I tried that first. Much easier for ME to put it in my teeth. One advantage is that the line is much closer to my eyes so I can see better. - Is it necessary to get a 3K-4K sized reel for larger pike (40”+?)
