  1. I can already visualize my first cast.
  2. Seems like EVERYTHING was better back then. I for one like the “simpler” times.
  3. One of the most peaceful things one can ever do. Even more than fishing. Yes I said it.
  4. An American company that named it Bouncing Betty? Somethings I’ll never understand. SMH
  5. To each their own. Are they making a bunch of money off of you? Absolutely, but they are a BUSINESS. Money in your pocket is still better than something depreciating in your basement collecting dust. Can you maybe sell something for more on your own? Very possible but it comes with slightly more headache. Ease of transaction is worth it to some. I’m upgrading all of my gear so I myself have to figure something out. I might just save it for future grandkids or maybe even give it away to youth in my area. I love being out and watching kids get excited.
  6. Notice how he spelled “waste of time”? Upper case and lower case? He’s being sarcastic.
  7. I’ve caught some of my biggest fish with my “one last cast” mentality. I’m hardly ever ready to leave. Even if the fishing isn’t the greatest. There’s always the POTENTIAL to catch a big one.
  8. Pretty accurate? Thought about buying but apparently it’s not waterproof. Being in a kayak I can definitely see it getting wet.
  9. I know where there’s probably 4-6 baitcasting combos. 8 foot of water tops. Been in there almost a year though by now. Interesting.
  10. Might have to pick up one of those G-Dash baits. Looks great.
  11. I’m frugal on almost everything else. But when it comes to fishing/hunting gear I go all out.
  12. Smallest I can find a 8/0 is 3/4 oz. Nope I lied, there’s these. https://www.meltontackle.com/dolphin-tackle-gitzem-jig-heads-1-2oz-2-pack-8-0-hook-plain.html
  13. Just watched a little bit of a live tournament. A dude was looking through a traffic cone and looked like the biggest fool I’ve ever seen. Never seen one before.
  14. I've decided I'm going to measure and weigh. I have absolutely zero idea how much some of my largest bass have weighed. No clue. I couldn't tell you if I've caught a 4 lb bass. I'm getting pretty "serious" about fishing now, the most ever. It's time I want to see " and lbs.
  15. Yeah those Bellows Gills etc. look sweet. I have a bag of the 4.8" Bull Flats that I'm probably going to try this weekend. That Gillsoft 130 looks pretty good and $30 isn't terrible. Edit: Oh dang it's a soft bait. Thought it was a hard bait. Hopefully it holds together well.
  16. Try these yet? Wish they were slightly bigger. 3.2" isn't that big.
  17. That's the problem. I think the "cheap" ones aren't very accurate/reliable. At least that's what it seems when I read reviews. Hard to find a scale with good reviews.
  18. I have a couple of the 6" Magdrafts myself and a couple of those S Wavers. That's it though. Neither really imitate bluegill though. I'll probably buy some bluegill type one of these days.
  19. I've always measured my fish, don't have a "fishing" scale myself. I searched my basement the other day as I knew I had a nice scale. Found it. The main problem is that it isn't waterproof. Nice accurate scale though. I'd either weigh the fish in my net or a weigh in bag. I probably just need to buy a fishing scale myself that is waterproof. I can see this thing getting ruined my first trip.
  20. As long as it was hooked good I think I could. I trust my knots. I trust my gear. I trust myself (sorta see below). My biggest fear would be turning my drag the wrong way, no I'm not kidding. Grew up with spinning gear and always back reeled. I've caught a few big pike with spinning and 8 lb mono. If I ever get a big fish I'll be out there literally saying out loud "Lefty loosey righty tighty!!!!!".
  21. Bought a couple packs but haven’t used them yet. 3.5” Not sure if I’m going to free rig (original plan) or neko rig them. Either way they look awesome.
  22. Thanks for the reply. Can’t wait for my first “big” swimbait fish.
