  1. I use Powerpro. I have some 832 and like it as well. I have 30# on everything but my frogging setup which I also use for big swimbaits, that's 65#.
  2. I also use a Mojo Bass MH/Fast with no issues.

I leave the skirt on and use a short trailer, usually a grub or a small paddletail. Sometimes I use a steady retrieve, sometimes I bounce it like a jig. It's one of my go to lures and have good luck with it.
  4. That's strange. I use both 50 and 65 pound braid and have caught plenty of bass from the slop on frogs but have never had to do that. What brand braid?
  5. I have an Abu Garcia, I think it's a Vendetta. 7-03, H/Fast. Love it for frogging. I think it was $119.
  6. I use a H/Fast rod for frogs, a MH/Fast for worms. The heavy for the frogs is mainly because I need to set the hook in some very heavy slop where I fish not for casting purposes.
  7. 6th Sense has become my favorite brand. I have several of their crankbaits and the finish looks the same in their second season. I have tremendous luck with their wake bait and their jigs are now the only ones in my bag.
  8. Ha, I've bowhunted for 40 years........I took up fishing a few years ago. I'm the opposite. The thing I like about fishing is being able to be more proactive....this summer I've pledged to slow it down!
  9. Last summer I used straight braid and had no problems catching fish. Mostly 30 lb with 50 or 65 for my frogging. I never had a line snap. This year on a whim I started using 14 pound test flouro leader on my plastics and on my jig rods. A couple weeks ago I was in my kayak and caught a monster that put of a great fight. As it was nearing the boat the leader snapped right in the middle. I took the leaders off all my rods and am back to straight braid.
  10. I started using 6th Sense this year and so far I really like them.
  11. I bought my first two St. Croix this winter. By the end of summer all my rods will be St Croix.
  12. Well, I was bass fishing a shallow bay with a MH/Fast rod and a 5 inch Senko and the rod survived the 48" musky I reeled in. My heart almost didn't when I realized it was a musky and not a bass with a ton of weeds on it.
  13. Troll or really, really young...............
  14. Ok, I have to ask.............how old are you??
  15. Ummm, have you thought about releasing it into a pond or lake??
  16. This..................
  17. I'm no expert but I throw jigs and spinnerbaits on a MH/Fast St Croix Mojo Bass. I also throw smaller spinnerbaits on a Med/Mod rod but wouldn't hesitate to throw them on the above rod also.
  18. The St Croix Mojo Bass come in a variety of actions. I have two right now and plan on expanding.
  19. I use 3600 boxes.........squarebills and cranks to 10 feet go in one, deep and lipless go in another, I put wake baits in with my surface lures.
  20. I agree with the MH/Fast. In a pinch I will use that for everything except my heavier swimbaits.
  21. A few summers ago my old college roomie took me and my sons out on his new boat on Lake Michigan. After our last stop for some fishing and swimming it wouldn't start. We ended up being towed in. The next day he calls and tells me he must have accidentally hit the kill switch under the throttle that he didn't even know was there......$300 oops.
  22. Maybe there aren't many fish in that particular spot?
  23. If I get out of the shower and have to do anything other than dry it with a towel I know it's time for a haircut.
  24. That's strange. When I'm not catching fish, a Senko style is my go-to. For muddy water I tend to use purple or a black/blue.
  25. Ha, you were right! Your first sentence.........lol
