  1. I use the Gamakatsu Offset EWG 2/0 hook for both wacky and t-rigs.......A lot of times I'm using wacky rigged and get to areas that have a lot of weeds and just take the worm of and rehook it as a weightless t-rig, or vice-versa.
  2. I recently added my 5th baitcaster setup. My rod actions are 1- M/M 3- MH/F 1- H/F I feel the MH/F are the most versatile and if needed I could use them for everything.
  3. I have the Abu Garcia Vendetta, 7-03, Heavy/Fast that I bought for frogs. I also use it for heavier swimbaits, and bigger spinners. I love it. I had a different brand, same figures that broke so I used a MH/Fast the rest of the day for frogs and couldn't stand it even though I used it prior to getting the H/Fast. I fish some very thick slop though.

I don't see the need, plus you're adding another knot to the chain........
  5. Tackle Warehouse.
  6. Mine looks like the one in the package. To me the two you showed look like it may just be a difference in photo quality.
  7. All I use is baitcasters.
  8. I have no problems with surface baits, for me it's pitching and accuracy of casting at closer targets, as well as skipping up underneath overhanging branches and such.
  9. Count me as a lucky one also. I've never had braid snap on a cast. I have had it backlash, wrap around my tip, etc.....but the lure always stays attached.
  10. Ha! That's how I was when I started kayak fishing. Two baitcasters though. Now it's 4 and I'm fighting the urge to carry 5... Heavy topwater/swimbait/ large spinners/large buzzbaits Medium crank/jerk/medium spinners & buzzbaits MH/Plastics MH/jigs A lot of times when I'm fishing and get a hit and miss or a short strike I'll follow up right away with plastics and am successful so that rod is always laying beside me unless it's my primary.
  11. Well after reading this thread I decided to go with the Quantum Smoke S3 in 7.3:1 to upgrade my arsenal. Bought it today since I had some BP gift cards. I'll be using this on my plastics rod which I tend to use the most of any of my rods. It'll be awhile before I can use it though.....maybe I'll go cast it a few times in the yard.
  12. I do this a lot too. But I use a weightless t-rig Senko.......Cast as far as I can and jerk it slowly across the top, when I get to a hole I drop it in, give it a bit of time, jig it a couple times, pull it up and jerk it to the next hole. I've caught bass while it's moving across the top, and while it's jigging in the hole. Heck I caught my one and only musky, a 48"er doing this when I dropped it in the last hole before getting back to my kayak for another cast.
  13. 8 pound 3 ounces on a purple wacky rigged Senko.
  14. I've gone back and forth, back and forth. I now have them in a worm binder, so I guess that's bags. I am able to keep them organized, easy to find, and don't take up too much room. I also keep my spinner and buzz baits in a worm binder. No more tangled up mess.
  15. Most of my frogging is done in incredibly thick grass mats, weeds, a lily pads. I use 65 lb braid on a 7-03 H/Fast rod, One day the handle of my rod broke and I used a MH/fast rod for frogs the rest of the day and missed more hook sets. I'll stick with the H/Fast but like I said, I fish in some real slop.
  16. I use an Abu Garcia Vendetta 7'3" H/Fast,, it was $79. I like it so far. Use it for hollow body frogs, heavy top waters like Ploppers, and big swimbaits. I don't use it for spinnerbaits, but when I go up to some musky waters this coming summer I will use it for large spinnerbaits.
  17. I used to have one of those boats until I switched to a kayak. But let me tell you, when you have to paddle one with a small paddle because you ran out of juice.........you'll always want the bigger, heavier, battery. I speak from experience.
  18. Kind of like Reel ess said.....I follow the same general line of thinking. I carry 4 rods,,,,, One M/Mod for cranks and jerk baits......could also use it for smaller spinners Two MH/Fast for jigs, plastics, spinners, buzz etc. These rods are versatile and you could probably use them for anything One H/Fast for topwater frogs, swimbaits, whopper ploppers, big spinbaits and sometimes big jigs for punching weeds. I also use braid for all of them......I don't want stretch when I set the hook since I'm in a kayak and my base isn't that solid......IE the kayak moves! I pick my braid on line diameter I'm trying to match not strength.
  19. I tried those things all summer, probably every time I went fishing I at least gave it a try. Never got a bite until.................End of September and all of October, then they were hitting it like crazy.
  20. My favorite way to catch fish is a Booyah Pad Crasher,,,,,,,,,,by far. But when I want to catch fish.............5 inch Yum Dinger,,,,,,,,,wacky or texas rigged.
  21. Look into Adobe Premiere Elements.
  22. I use Senko's, Yum Dingers, and a brand I got on-line that I can't remember the name of. I have to say the Senko's do well for me. But so do the Dingers, but so do the off brand........lol
  23. I've always used PowerPro. This summer I put Sufix 832 on two of my reels......just because. I can't tell any difference in performance.

This past late spring we had a lot of flooding after heavy rains. I took my kayak out to a place that usually has a ton of surface weeds but due to the flooding the weed tops were about a foot under water. I had crazy success with wake baits that day.
  25. This, except I use plumbers tape. Then nothing on the reel but the braid.
