Weather should be good this Saturday close to ideal, warming trend should turn on the BITE! Too bad I am going duck then dove hunting in Okeechobee.

Cali and Japan have the perfect environments, lack of predators, reasonable water temperatures without the excessive heat we have down here in the shallow lakes, and plenty of forage, stocked trout and such. So there is no right answer of which is more important, but I think it can be argued that we as humans can manipulate environmental influences such as forage and stocking areas, better than creating the perfect genetic monster bass although the State of Texas is trying. Once again, can I get a shout out from my Texas and Cali forum members thanking FLORIDA for the genetic potential for your pen raised bass ?

You can try something a little different and try fishing Titusville's world famous Mosquito Lagoon for some gigantic red fish using your bass tackle.

Those Swift river canoes are pretty awesome, but the beauty of Rhino's canoe is spectacular. I would be afraid to actually use it.

Florida bass fishing can get tough to near impossible when it's cold and this year is exceptional. You can always cheat and use live golden shiners, but it's cheating. I try to time my trips around a warming trend or hours before another approaching front and fall in barometric pressurre. If you can't time your fishing around conditions then stick to fishing around hard structure areas towards end if day and keep an eye on water temp and fish warmer areas. Fishing will be tough thou no way around it. My spots where I can catch 20-40 fish consistently througout year are down to 5-10 fish in same amount of time. >

Its been brutally cold for South Florida lately and with the recent warming trend and approaching cold front decided to do a little Christmas night bass fishing as the barometer dropped, this is my reward! She hit a Deps Basirisky frog bait twice before she committed to it, I let her eat and wham! 6lbs 11ozs

Doctors are a dime a dozen, some good some bad, most people are to loyal to their particular doctor for who knows what. I know you don't want to "rock the boat," but if a NEW Rx was issued for your glasses was different from the first Rx, then ask the Doctor why the Rx changed in so little time, and why you would have to eat the cost of the second pair and subsequent follow up visit copay. No need for confrontation just straight forward answer. If she doesn't give one to you then ask the doctor personally for a transfer of medical records to another ophthalmologist and state that you will be filing a grievance with the insurance company for your stated reasons. Most likely the reason she will not cover the cost of second glasses is that she gets very little reimbursement from the insurance company on the glasses and may actually LOSE money on the second go around, especially if your really fancied up the glasses with non-reflective coating, poly lenses, and the latest progressive technology. If the doctor is smart she will eat the cost of these glasses and keep you around for you and your wife's medical test, believe me its a nice stream of cash coming in if you go there regularly for glaucoma visits, visual field test, and eye pressure test. Remember some doctors don't work for free and are not "in the business" to provide unselfish care and look out for a patient's needs, they are in the business of medicine even if they hide behind their oath. Also, ophthalmologist have the best of both worlds and that they usually are affiliated with a optometry office, and get money in their pockets from referring to themselves to fill the prescription out of their optometry shop. Most of the time you are better off seeing the real "MD" (ophthalmologist) for diseases of the eye and the Dr. of Optometry for visual acuity test. Don't let them say that its not recommended you fill the prescription somewhere else, blah blah blah. Its a OBJECTIVE measurement that can be filled anywhere and if the Rx is right the glasses are right. I worked for 3 years setting up various software ophthalmology and optometry medical practice programs and know the "tricks" of the trade. Off topic, but how many of you fellas fishing Amistad and Falcon carry firearms for protection? Is it legal to carry guns across lake border on trip? Lastly, what is your firearm of choice?
