Most innovative concept to come out in the last 5 years
Yes, I agree with many on here! "Side-scan" sonar units with high graphic output are the best since trolling motors. Thank you Navy and Dr. Julius Hagemann, or should I say thanks Dr. Hagemann, and shame on you Navy from keeping a lock on his "invention" from 1958 to 1980. Could you imagine if Rolando or Rick had his hands on that technology in early BASS tournaments!! The previous innovative idea was the use of the bow mount electric trolling motor, not sure when they first were used in B.A.S.S. tournaments, but had to be in the early 1970's? Someone OLD enough to know this please chime in . I can't wait to see how my kid fishes when he is in his 30s........ Fishing may not be any fun to me, because he will have all the bottom contours mapped and coordinates for each programed into his electronically steered boat. Sonar would be so advanced it would project its findings onto some 3d virtual world that he could have projected on his heads up display onto his sunglasses with polarized lenses that would automatically correct to the perfect hue for fishing conditions. As Adam cast his lure the reel would correct itself to provide the best performance for his cast based on information received from various sources, lures would relay instantaneous speed and drift so that reel would slow the lure down as it approached its target providing a stealthy entry. Sonar unit would relay possible underwater obstructions the lure should steer clear of. Also, sonar information findings could be telegraphed to lures so that they would adjust themselves hydrodynamically as to position themselves in front of their intended target. The lure would also relay information about depth, pH, speed and exact coordinates of strike occurrence to a computer that could log information to be studied later by angler for recreational purposes or biologist studying bass as a subject. In a tournament you would never have to bring the fish back to weigh in because weight would be relayed instantaneously to online viewers from a device on the boat such as a live well that would weigh fish and have exact fish dimensions by volume displacement. The live-wells would automatically release the perfect amount of chemical needed to rid the bass of an parasites and provide it with a health boost and alert you verbally that the fish was in optimum condition to be self released. A real time camera would capture the events on your boat as they unfold from various angles in 3d for spectators to feel as if they were on the front deck with Adam Just imagine the possibilities.........................

Lox - Oct 30th 2010
Robert, water levels seem to be pretty stable over the past month...fairly high. I went to Lox Saturday afternoon...I broke my streak of big fish, but caught a ton of decent 2-3 lbers. Water temp is a little high right now...74. When the temp gets back down below 70, I think the big ones will get going again. When do you want to go this week? Or after the COLD breaks, or should I say cooler trend...

Brrr
right on! i would love to fish osbourne with you. i have a tourny in january at ida. i have some spots, but they are all down south. you show me your north spots and i'll show you my south spots. I have some awesome winter spots on Lake Clarke which is good if you fishing Osburne in a Tournament. Haven't fished them in a while though, but usually pull through in the winter for me. Palm Beach Canal is usually pretty good around water control structures and bridges with Carolina rigged worms and t-rigged if it gets cold.

Florida's fish kill...
Fishing is just fine! Peacocks north of central Palm Beach are rarer, but it seems like the fish kill actually helped the freshwater fishery. Snook and Tarpon, still great!!

Any one use these tire?
I owned a set of Bridgestone Potenzas high performance tires in between sets of Michelins Pilot sports and can tell you that my Michelins were quieter ( no annoying hum towards end of tire life), lasted much longer, and performed equally as well. That being said I switched to Toyo Proxes series and can tell you that they are on par with the Michelins and better than the Potenzas. So give them a look you will be happy, autocross guys love them.

great chine walk video
What is it about the Triton hulls that make them chine so bad, when compared to other similar boats?

Do You Drink Energy Drinks?
I have tried them are and most are horrible. The best tasting energy drink that actually does its job is..... POWERTRIP, just about all the drinks they make are great tasting, my favorite is Original Blue and Citrus Powershots. Has anyone on here tried them? I think they are only in the Buffalo, Greenbay, and North Florida areas. Tried DNA energy drink the other day and almost gagged

Florida Duck Hunting
Have not been fishing lately because between duck, deer, and dove seasons its been keeping me off the water, but I soon I will be slaying bertha like a BR member should be. Here is a pic of my latest duck hunting trip, it was about 60 degrees and I had my limit by 7:30 after putting in the water around 630 not a snow flake in sight. Bigger duck was a mottled, aka Florida Mallard, and the others were tasty blue wing teal.

Well wishes to Triton21 (Kelley)

bye bye boise!
Is as said in the previous post I have no respect for Boise and Nevada proved that! TCU is a whole different story though they beat two top 25 ranked teams Utah and Oregon State. If Oregon loses to Oregon State than maybe TCU vs. Auburn, but Auburn still has S. Carolina to go through and Spurrier is waiting for the opportunity! Would be funny to see Oregon vs. TCU for championship though ;D. knowing full well that Auburn is the cream of the NCAA crop!

Trailer brakes?
It would be awesome if there was a remote hub temperature monitoring device especially when towing long distances, peace of mind you know!

25hp Electric start or 30HP Pull start?
No, man up and get the Pull start, if the engine is well maintained and properly tuned, a pull start should not take more than a 3 or 4 pulls other than on a very cold morning, if that is the case hook up the rabbit ears before you leave and run it for 5 minutes so you want be pulling like a mule when on the water with a dead cold engine.

Should I replace my Tempest with a Fury?
Redline, I have a buddy of mine that runs his Stratos w/250xs with Fury, Trophy, Powertech TRO4, and on and on. For his setup the best top end was with a 26" Fury, best hole shot was with the TR04, while maintaining recommend RPMs. It will vary from boat to boat and your setup. I run a TRO4 on my Ranger since I am a fan of a hole shot and handling, also Rangers are hefty and a 4 blade really helps with holeshot and mid range performance. What's your current setup? Inches Below Pad (Ranger hulls are usually from 3-4" below pad) RPMs at WOT and light load (Should be right a Redline plus or minus 200 RPMs) Time to 30 MPH (Hopefully better than 4s) Prop Slip < 12% is ideal This sight will help you calculate prop slip http://www.mercuryracing.com/propellers/propslipcalculator.php You should be running right at your redline RPM with the prop you chose at WOT for best performance and its always better to be under-proped by a couple of hundred rpms vs. over-proped especially if you like making that Ranger jump out like a flushing teal. http://www.kencook.net/Setupart.html If it were me I would get a 4 blade and have it blueprinted and tuned. The TRO4s are priced at about $320 at www.pitstopmarine.com which is a great price for a great prop. The other advantage of a 4 blade is when running really shallow on a jackplate, don't want to run like that all the time but it is great to know that you can jack the motor up and get out of the shallows.

Thanksgiving Turkey Cookoff (Man vs. Woman)
How many of you are cooking a turkey and having your wife or significant-other cook one? My wife bakes a great turkey, her secret is a 24 hour brine recipe. I on the other hand have been craving a deep fried turkey. Thus, the great turkey cook off between husband and wife has started. She swears her's will be better, but its hard to beat a fried turkey!! Just finished injecting Mr. Tom and dry rubbing it!!

Springsteen's "Born in the USA"
Springsteen is right up there with Barbra Streisand in my book of favorites!! Yeah right! Here are the lyrics for you all to see: Born down in a dead man town The first kick I took was when I hit the ground You end up like a dog that's been beat too much Till you spend half your life just covering up Born in the u.s.a., I was born in the u.s.a. I was born in the u.s.a., born in the u.s.a. Got in a little hometown jam So they put a rifle in my hand Sent me off to a foreign land To go and kill the yellow man Born in the U.S.A... Come back home to the refinery Hiring man said son if it was up to me Went down to see my v.a. man He said son, don't you understand I had a brother at Khe Sahn Fighting off the Viet Cong They're still there, he's all gone He had a woman he loved in Saigon I got a picture of him in her arms now Down in the shadow of the penitentiary Out by the gas fires of the refinery I'm ten years burning down the road Nowhere to run aint got nowhere to go Born in the u.s.a., I was born in the u.s.a. Born in the u.s.a., I'm a long gone daddy in the u.s.a. Born in the u.s.a., born in the u.s.a. Born in the u.s.a., I'm a cool rocking daddy in the u.s.a.
