  1. Sure wish I was close to retirement, would take 2 of those , good luck!
  2. I will either ride with Piscicidal or him with me if we have enough boaters.
  3. I would consider some other brands above Optima. Here are some "better" choices you may want to consider in Group 31 1. Sears DieHard Platinum (Made by Odyssey) http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_02850131000P 2. West Marine's Sea-Volt or Deka Seamate (Made by East Penn ) http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=100629&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&storeId=11151&storeNum=10109&subdeptNum=10548&classNum=10549 3. Trojan http://www.trojanbattery.com/Products/31-AGM12V.aspx I like Lifeline too, but they are hard to get and you have to send them back to factory if you have issues, and $$$$$. http://www.lifelinebatteries.com/marineflyer.php?id=12 In my opinion the battery list above is better than Optima. I would base my decision on availability/proximity to your area, WARRANTY, and recommended outboard motor CCA! If I had to re-battery my Ranger it would be the Sears Platinum hands down, with the 3 year warranty, CCA, reserve amp advantage over the Optima it seems like a better choice. Difference is price may be more or less depending on coupons or sales they maybe running. They do weigh a bit more though. Good luck and tell us what you went with
  4. Went out to Lake "O" on Saturday and ran some pretty thick weeds. Last, night I took the prop off and noticed weeds were very tightly strung around and behind the thrust washer. While removing the weeds I noticed that they had an oil/grease smell to them, although I am not sure if it was from the grease on prop shaft or oil from lower unit. To be safe I drained my lower unit oil and found it to be dark, but not milky or chalky. So, is it probable that weeds could become entangled behind the thrust washer so as to break the prop shaft seal, leading to water contamination in the lower unit? I know it can happen with fishing line, but have any of you had or heard of weeds breaking the seal?
  5. Open her up and take some pics of the "kids" work! Looks nice and clean, would love that jon for some local lakes!
  6. You guys must be making long runs! If not you sure fish too much, I go out about 2/3 days a weeks and I am on my 3rd gallon had to use some of the Quicksilver Premium stuff, nothing like running out of oil on the lake and asking a fellow boater to borrow some
  7. For my Yammy I use Seafoam every other tank, Ringfree in between and Marine Stabil on every tank. Is there a reason your are running 89 vs. 87? I also believe your oil makes a HUGE difference. Synthetics "smoke" much less. I really like Pennzoil fully synthetic Oil, or Amsoil HP Injector, they smoke significantly less when compared to conventional oils, I have Mercury Premium in my tank now, don't ask, but it SMOKES much more than the previously mentioned oils. Send me a P.M. if you want "competitive pricing" on Amsoil. I can have it shipped to your door for less than retail.
  8. Don't you love the Big O? NICE FISH!!! I am headed out Saturday early until about 10-11 then packing it up before the real HEAT sets in. Hope I can tear them up on the TOAD also
  9. Riley charmed him over and once Wade and Bosch committed it was clear to LeBron that he wanted to play in S. Beach and play for the Heat! Dan Gilbert needs to get a grip, we are dealing with ummm..... basketball players in the game of basketball. If he wants to get even he should call for an all out boycott of Carnival Cruise Lines and travel to Florida from all Cavs fans. Mickey Arison won fair and square and his venom should be directed at him, not the dumb basketball player in a businessman's world! In my opinion Dan Gilbert is a cry baby!
  10. Sounds like fun, like catching Amber-jack off a wreck or deep dropping for deep pelagic fish without an electric reel. Saltwater guys really must love to work!
  11. X-Rap work it like crackhead and hold on! Also, replace factory hooks with saltwater hooks, trust me!
  12. Just use Magic Johnson's antibodies, they will kill everything!! What a great idea! Awesome!
  13. If you are under 18 and in my boat you are wearing the jacket while the outboard is on or off! Over 18 and its your choice, but I always offer. I personally wear my PDF that is hooked to the KILL SWITCH while the motor is running, never know when you may get tossed!
  14. Its LeBron!! Guess getting seats now to the Heat games will be next to IMPOSSIBLE!! WOW, dy-NASTY! Kobe, who?
  15. What do most of you guys carry in case you need to jack up your trailer? I was thinking of getting this little jewel at harbour freight http://www.harborfreight.com/2-ton-capacity-12-volt-scissor-jack-95851.html
  16. If you can get them to answer Emails then great, but until then just add slicks of needed, or better yet re-carpet marine grade boards and occasionally slick down with silicon, but be careful and make sure you don't unhook the boat before backing it up. Too much of a good thing is not good, kind of like ultimate bunk boards on a bass boat. ;D
  17. Nothing will bring a smile to your face like the Remington, congrats!!
  18. Whatever "The General" suggest is usually in my humidor at home or in my BOAT!
  19. In Miami with Bosch and Wade, it will be a Dynasty, a DYNASTY! Miami will suddenly become a B-ball town not a fly by night B-ball town, like in the past. The U, Phins, and ............................Marlins..................Panthers might as well give up.
  20. I personally like buzz-baits in 1/2 with all black with glow skirts or just all black, swimming frog type baits, Top-water poppers and walkers like the Zara Spook and big BIG black and chart worms fished slowly! Also, I like wearing yellow shooters glasses, never know when you set up on something and that treble hook lure is headed right at your face, insect repellent, long sleeve shirt, and most importantly a night light with regular light and some form of subdued light (green/blue/red), cap lights work great. If you click on my pic in the post you'll see the garb!
  21. I am going to make another suggestion here and ask members that are planning to attend if they will be fishing alone or with partner and what type of boat they are in. Nothing wrong with a jon boat, I have fished areas of the refuge with one, but to really get around that place you really need a bigger boat, 35-40 MPH capable boat I would say. I have paired up with piscidal, but if its 6 guys and three bring jon boats, then I think those members would enjoy riding around and fishing out of the bigger rigs. I know for sure S. FL Native, piscidal, Boca, Glades aren't limited to jon boats. Therefore, I would be willing to forgo being a backseater on a big boat owner and bring my boat along so the jon boat guy can have a chance to fish out a bigger boat. Just bring the donuts, drinks and ICE, plenty of ICE! ;D
  22. Vote for launch site
  23. I just finished reading the entire thread and it appears Bocabasser wanted to launch from somewhere in the middle to make it fair, but I think me and S. Florida Native are the only ones that this would help and he is still up in the air, so let's vote on what ramp is best. I vote for Lox ramp just because it is closer for most members and I can get to my spots faster from there ;D
