  1. Nice rifle, the 700 action can't be beat. Why did you go with walnut stock instead of synthetic?
  2. then how is it better? ;D Ask a sugar-holic, abut the Pepsi Part! Proof is a bit higher on the Evan and it cost less. I even like Jim over Jack.

Should the NFC West champion be allowed into the playoffs? I know they will, but come on, its ridiculous that better NFC teams will be passed up for a Division chump, I mean champ!
  4. Hey Tin, Evan Williams and Pepsi is better than Jack and Coke, give it to my Jack and Coke drinking friends and they can't tell the difference.
  5. Hands down for consistent trophy size large-mouth Texas is king, California wins the ultra-big race , BUT........ WITHOUT FLORIDA STRAIN LARGE-MOUTH BEING INTRODUCED INTO EACH STATE BOTH STATES WOULD PALE IN COMPARISON TO FLORIDA! Basically Texas and California anglers are fishing for Native or Hybridized Florida Bass, nothing wrong with that since people hunt pen raised deer and birds all the time, but in my book if it ain't native to the area an asterisk should be placed by the record stating so. SO CAN I GET A THANK YOU FLORIDA, from all you big Tex and Left Coast anglers? Florida is far from meticulous for keeping records but here is a nice article on Florida's top "unofficial" record large-mouth.
  6. What's amazing Catt is that 11 of the 17 came this year, must be on a boom cycle.
  7. Robert...when I was there Friday the water at the ramp was 56F at 10:00AM. The water temp was about 4 degrees colder out west (52F in the canal). The East flats warmed to about 60 by 3PM. When it gets back up to the mid 60s I am there, but so is everyone else >
  8. Read my post on Texas Lakes and you decide Florida Beinville Plantation and Stick Marsh.

  11. Was just surfing the net and was looking at Texas's share a lunker website and in the 2009-2010 season the top public lakes were: Amistad-4 fish all in the 13lbs range Falcon- 2 fish a 13 and a 14 Fork- 3 fish two 13 and a 15.6 and the BEST LAKE IN TEXAS based on SHARE A LUNKER is........................................................ O. H. Ivie 11 total bass, yes that is right eleven were caught from the O.H. Ivie to be used in Texas's share a lunker program. One was a 16lber, two were in the 14lb. range and the rest were 13lbs. That is more than Falcon, Amistad, Fork, and Choke Canyon combined O.K. Texans tell me why you keep telling us to go to Amistad, Falcon, Fork, or Choke Canyon (One 15lber, for share a lunker), is it the State's honey hole or what? http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/visitorcenters/tffc/sharelunker/archives/index.phtml?seas=24&Submit=Go
  12. 1. Reaction Innovations-Skinny Dipper 2. Spro's- Bronzeye and Bronzeye Popper 3. Various Lipless crankbait brands
  13. Yo-zuri's hybrid is my line of choice for cranks and topwater, everything else braid with flourocarbon leader if necessary. For jig fishing braid is a must for feeling structure and cover. In my experience you feel more fish and miss less with braid especially for weighted lures and soft plastics.
  14. Haven't fished with them, but handled them at iCast in 2009 and loved the feel. Great Rod!!
  15. If you don't I have a neighbor that will over $400
  16. Buy USED, like everyone else said, but make sure you check the engine out skeg to cowling with a fine tooth comb, compression test it and water test to make sure it is preforming like it should for that particular boat/motor combo. My used boat search went on for 6 months until I found exactly what a I wanted Ranger Intracoastal and the condition I wanted it in, saved about 15-18K of new purchase price and used the extra savings for upgraded electronics and power pole. If I were in the market for a bass boat the top three boats that are still manufactured would be 1. Bass Cat 2. Ranger 3. Triton/Skeeter/Stratos All are great boats though and only you know what fits your budget and liking.

I have a Sig, but really like the look of the CZ. May need to get one too!!
  18. What was the water temp?
  19. !I use a MOTO STOP and I am not sponsored! http://www.basstacklemaster.com/Moto-Stop-transom-saver-p/motostop.htm Yamaha had a service bulletin #O2008-001 concerning tilt lever support for ALL outboard models. Yamaha suggests using built in support for "service" only and recommends using a transom saver device. Here are some other alternatives: http://www.fishingworld.com/ProRule/ http://www.m-ywedge.com/ http://www.lock-n-haul.com/ http://www.durasafelocks.com/products/marine/marine-ts-TS1.html
  20. Fishing after cold fronts in FLORIDA S__KS! Don't even waste my time unless its a tournament.
  21. Remington 870 of course. Check out gunbroker.com for deals
  22. Everything Glenn said is right!! I went through the whole process about 2 years ago when remodeling my house. I ended up with a Sony Bravia LCD KDL-52W4100 which at the time was the "top rated" LCD for videophiles. The Pioneer Elite Plasma though is considered the Golden standard when it comes to picture quality then. I think now the top dog is the Panasonic Premier Plasma. Don't compare TVs at the box store though, most sets are set way too bright to attract your attention, but for ideal viewing its not what you need. Also, make sure you don't have a screen with GLARE, if your video room is not perfectly dark and then its vital you have a glare free screen those nice shiny screens that show fingerprints are great when you are looking at them in a perfect scenario, but not so great otherwise. That was a major factor when I purchased my tv. Also look at some high end home theater magazines or websites for reviews, they run the sets through a battery of OBJECTIVE test and compare stuff you would never think about. Not sure about now, but Vizios back then were ridiculed for lack of color quality and edge image distortion.
  23. When switching from mono to braid when Power Pro first came out I had a hard time adjusting my hook set from home runs to a quick sweep/tug, I still on occasion rear back like a DONKEY, but instead of actually breaking off I found that I straightened hooks or pull it from the mouth at time bring back some skin. Anyway, by switching to lighter action rods when possible and reducing my drag pressure SIGNIFICANTLY I have found that my donkey kick sets don't really handicap me as much as they should. Really not sure about breaking off braided line on hook sets if line is not compromised, that is really hard to do or near impossible unless you are fishing for behemoth saltwater fish like goliath grouper and most of the time the hooks are straightened. May want to mention to your friend that sometimes a "hobby" is better than a job, since once your hobby becomes a job it loses its luster.
